Hi Guys,
I'm a big fan of Flash coin routines, specifically Eric jones's Flash coins relit. You may not have seen the routine, but he calls the balls of paper "wish paper" and uses them to produce the coins for the routine. While I like the use of the flash paper for coin productions, I was never a big fan of the wish paper idea. I always really wanted to just touch the flame, have the ball of fire appear and produce, aka using the flash paper secretly. However, I also am not a fan of burning myself. Does anyone know any technique or routines that use this idea: Secretly using flash paper to produce things, but also being a safe technique. I thought about pushing the flash paper out of my hand as I go towards the flame, but then if I flash the paper, and I mean the audience sees it, then it will detract from the effect, as you are not using it openly. Any suggestions? At this point I'm just staying on the safe side, but in the case someone knows of a method, I would be interested to at least see what it was. Thank you guys. Colin |

Don't be afraid of flash paper.
If you do it well and work carefully it will not burn you. Hold it loosely between your fingers or against the 'prop" (coin etc.). It's important to do many try-outs, about how much of how big. Think also about using flash cord or flash cotton. Do some try-outs with an audience and you will discover the impact! |
