Hey, has anyone taken the rainbow canvas strips off of the side and replaced it with anything else? Rainbow REALLY doesn't go with my style.

Take a visit to a fabric store and they should have a wide assortment of possible substitutes.

Justin,
After we talked last night, I realized that we overlooked another source of material. What about leather from Tandy Leather Co.? It comes in colors, is strong and can have about any finish you want from shiny to rough. There is also upholstery paint that can be used to paint it. You can even go with designs, if you want them. Leather will be too thick and won't let the sides fall down properly.

There are leathers as thin as canvas but stronger. The smooth side of leather is where the strength is. A good leather craftsman can skive it down to whatever you want. It does take the proper equipment. Try a saddle shop.

I don't understand why people ask for advice and reject it before they have all the facts. I have spent days looking in different stores for what I want to solve a problem.
If you don't want to consider advice given, don't ask. I realize some posters are trying to fill up their number of postings but a lot of us really want to help. Just a thought. Bill ![]() |
