Hello, I was wondering is there a Seinfeld dvd out in America? or a box set? I am a big fan of the series and Jerry Seinfeld. I would love to have some video's or dvd's I have found nothing in this country.
Regards, Luke

I don't think there is a box set or any plans to release one. I heard the reason for this is because they are making so much money off the re-runs. That's just what I heard, so don't be suprised if I'm wrong.
I don't know if you have seen it or not but there is a documentary on Seinfeld as he retires his old act and sets out to create a brand new act from scratch. The documentary is called "Comedian". It also follows another lesser know comic whose name is Orny Adams (What they show of his stand up is really good IMHO. ). So check that out if you haven't already. I thought it was great. |

No, there isn't. I have no idea if there are plans though. Probably eventually. And you can bet when it comes out it, the sales will without doubt be the biggest for a TV boxed set in history. The documentary Justin mentioned, "Comedian," is really good too.

Gotta LOVE Larry David. The man is a god!
Check out every episode of Seinfeld, Curb your enthusiasm, and "Sour Grapes" the movie. All pure genius. |

A while ago I signed a petition on the internet that was aimed at getting Sienfeld released onto dvd. Try to find that and hopefully one day the series will be released.

With it being on four times a day between TBS and UPN, I doubt it will be available for purchase anytime soon. Not too many shows have that heavy of a rotation as a rerun. Which goes to show how popular it is...and how well written it was.

I can't get enough of the "puffy" shirt episode. I talked about that for days. Oh! and the "bubble boy" episode also had me in stitches.
KRAMER: "Jerry! you have to do your act for this kid who's in a bubble. The kid is your biggest fan!" JERRY: "Oh I can't! I've made other commitments for that day!" KRAMER: "No Jerry! You have to do this. He announced to everyone that he LOVES you and besides he's a bubble boy!" JERRY: "What do you mean he's a bubble boy?!" KRAMER: "They boy is in a bubble Jerry!" JERRY: "Why's he in a bubble?!" KRAMER: <frantically waving arms> "CAUSE HE'S A BUBBLE BOY!!!!!!" |

I have looked for a DVD of this sort and they do not exist...yet.
I agree with the other people in this string.

I agree, Larry David is brilliant. I am also a big fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm. But Sour Grapes? I found it inexplicable how such a funny guy could make such an UNFUNNY movie. Maybe I watched it in th wrong frame of mind though.
P.S.- I actually have a puffy shirt just like the one in that episode. And I do wear it occasionally.

From 11/14/03 Entertainment Weekly:
"Exec producer Howard West claims that DVDs *are* in the works and should roll out by late next year. 'It takes time,' he explains about adding extras -- unseen footage, behind-the-scenes interviews -- to episodes filmed as long ago as 1990. 'We have to go backward to go forward.' But Columbia-TriStar, who will distribute, says it has no timetable for the release." |

Heh, sour grapes did take awhile to get going, but I really found it funny, just because of the whole idea of it.
