My point was that Cag has misrepresented and underestimated the members of this forum with his reference to the "MHD crowd". I certainly don't belong to that group, and I don't think Silverking is, either. Neither is Cagliostro himself. Nor Arnold. In fact, of those who post regularly (unlike myself), I'm not really sure who does belong to the MHD crowd. That was my point. I have no problem with that observation. I was just looking for a catch-all phrase because "members" doesn't seem to do the job. While I think most that "read" the posts on this BB (and infrequently or never post)probably belong in that group, certainly there are some who have gone beyond that point. I think you made a good point and I'll keep that in mind in the future and if anyone can come up with a better "catch-all" descriptive term, I would have no problem using it. Any suggestions? |

@stone
Glad to see you back in that crazy place! As a side note, do you read your Facebook messages ? To be respected by -some- people here you need: - to be a PROFESSIONAL cheat; - having made MILLIONS; - in CASINOS; - in LAS VEGAS only (rest of the world is surely a jungle full of primitive people); well sometimes, California can be also accepted; - playing BLACKJACK only; - and spending most of your time ranting and posting here. Otherwise you're just a "member". |

Thanks Arnold, but "members" does not seem to do the job. I have considered using it, and sometimes it is relevant, but I often refer to a larger group outside of this BB - a larger category if you will. (Probably "members-plus" or "members et al" would not do it either. Just doesn't sound right.)

Can I become a "premium-member"? No, "platinum-member". Sounds better.

In our quest for an all-inclusive name, how about “Gambling Chicanery Aficionados?” Does that take in everyone on the BB (and beyond) without diminishing or over elevating anyone?
Sort of one size fits all. |

It doesn't take you into account. No one would like to offend you that way!

Believe it's "Advanced Tactics in Casino Advantage Play" by Abram Alexander. Review by JG:

This book is fairly short and a very easy read, but it represents a truly unique entry into the field of advantage gambling literature. Most books on the subject are strategy texts, with explanations on how to obtain an edge in blackjack and other casino games. This is all well and good, but players attempting to put such information to use will soon find that casinos would prefer that they find a different hobby. That's where this book comes in--it's focus is on tactics, rather than strategies; once you know how to beat the games, you need to know how to get away with it. While most books cover concepts such as cover, camouflage, and other methods to avoid detection, this one has obviously been written by someone who has actually been there and is speaking from experience. Don't expect high-level concepts from a theoretician--this book is about getting the money, not simply thinking about how to get the money. |

The only fella that ever knew who made any real money from playing black Jack was Dave Moseley, alias Chris Randall. He once told me that he had deliberately made the casinos suspect him of card counting to cover up what he was really doing.

Not that I am aware of but he is mentioned in at least one book: Swimming with the Devil Fish but that's a book about professional poker players.
