If you showed your friends like the demo video, then I see why they said, "clever" as a response.
You did not show the keys ring to begin with, from the video it looks like it might have angle problems. You did not borrow the ring. You did not talk, and most close up performers talk to people when showing their tricks. Plus there has been so many ring to key fobs on the market over the years, I think your friends just thought, this is another version. The vanish looked excellent as presented on the video, but that is only one camera angle. |

Bill.
I showed a bunch of people. Some were friends, some were simply people whose opinion I respect. I have shown some very knowledgeable magicians live, and the look on their faces when the ring or item vanishes never fails to make me smile. This is one of those effects that looks good on video, but looks great live. The key ring is simply hanging out of my pocket; I felt no need to show it, as it is irrelevant to the routine until the climax. The keys/keychain are essentially ungaffed. I usually DO prepare my keychain for the effect, although it isn't necessary. The ring can be borrowed. But just like your previous statement regarding the keychain, I felt it wasn't necessary; as the ring would normally be borrowed. There are angles, but it isn't angly... It's hard to explain without tipping too much, but needless to say angles are simply not something I worry about with this. I don't understand the relevance of whether I speak during a performance or not...Or why it matters to this effect at all. You are right; ring flight is a well tread plot, which is why this was developed. This isn't a ring to keychain. It really is a ring to ANYWHERE. The method allows for striking vanishes of ANY ring, and cause it to instantly reappear almost ANYWHERE. Your keyring. Your necklace. Your shoelace. Your pocket. A ring box. A sugar packet. Virtually anywhere you can imagine, you can cause the ring to reappear. And it isn't just limited to rings. Any small object can be manipulated with the gimmick. You can cause coins, folded cards, or bills to vanish and reappear in the same manner. I've been having fun using this for a cap in bottle effect... I understand your reluctance towards the effect; it does look good on camera, from that angle, but rest assured it looks even better live. I did it for the local magic club a few months ago. There was around 15 people, some seated, some standing, some directly in front, some off to my left, and some off to my right. There were guys at all kinds of angles. But it still FRIED them. Thank you for saying it looks good though! Blindside, send me a PM. I will get one to you when they are done; I owe you one . I know I showed you the rough tutorial, but wait until you get it into your hands; you'll smile. Cricketer, I am not sure what the final price will be, but you can rest assured the team and I will work to bring it to you at a very reasonable price. As I mentioned much earlier in this thread, I wanted to release it as an uber cheap download, but after sharing it around, it turns out that while painfully simple, it can be a bit troublesome to assemble for some people, which is why we are releasing it as a physical gimmick, so you can just get it and get started with it right away. That said, the gimmick, while simple, does cost a few bucks in total to put together. Ultimately, I'm sure this will be priced fairly, and provide a good value for those that choose to purchase it. I'm here to answer any questions you guys might have. Sf |

On a scale of 1=10 how hard is it to accomplish Sean?

Good question Bowers...
You can install/put the gimmick on, and start doing it immediately, it is that simple. The second you put it on, and learn how to use it, you can use it. The mechanics are automatic. However... To use it effectively will take some practice. The device doesn't necessarily replace sleight of hand, but rather amplify it. Think of it like a thumb tip. Anyone can use it, but it takes practice to use it well. Hope that helps! Sf |

Hey Cameron, thank you so much for the kind words! I'm so sorry I missed it, I had a gig. The guys were quite impressed though! I will definitely catch you next time!
Maddy, I can't say for sure, but I don't think there will be download option. If my business partners are into it, it will certainly be an option, but I don't want to promise anything. Sf |

Hey Dave,
We are just getting ready to shoot. I can't say for sure exactly when it will be released, but it shouldn't be a terribly long wait. I don't want to make any promises, but I hope to have this out late this year, early 2014. I apologize to those who were waiting for this, as I did say it would have been out by now. But I can assure you that this will be a much better product because of the wait. I am working with some very talented people on this one. Sf |

My first thought was that the vanish must use a method similar to the "Fickle Nickel" but Blindside wrote that the "angles are great" and that this could be performed surrounded. Now I'm intrigued.

Although it 'looks' like Fickle Nickle, it is not. I wouldn't be totally comfortable doing it surrounded, but angles are good.

I have used Fickle Nickle ever since Doug Henning premiered it on National TV, however, those in the know should agree that it is pretty finicky.
It's a pain in the butt. But this looks fantabulous! If it is not as finicky as Fickle Nickle, count me on board. The vanish puts me to mind of a coin vanish that Copperfield did on his China special that fried my brain then, and still fries it to this day. I hope Penguin is your dealer on this, because I love doing business with them, as their prices are fair and their shipping is lightning fast

Hey Doug!
First off, thanks for the kind words! Fickle Nickle is stunning, no doubt, which is why Henning, Sigfried & Roy, among many others have used it. I love the effect, I think it's brilliant, and do use it from time to time. But you are most certainly right when you say it can be 'finicky'. This is nothing like Fickle Nickle however. Those in the know will realize immediately by how my hands move, and how open everything looks, it isn't Fickle Nickle, Now U C It, Now U Don't, Melt, or any other related techniques/methodologies. I am pretty proud of this. Just got my schedule today for production.. I will be able to show/tell/discuss more very soon. Stay tuned guys. Thanks again for the interest and support all. I truly appreciate it. Sean |

Thank You for your continued updates, Sean. Seems this has the potential to become a "Best of 2014" release. Best of success to you!
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.
