There is an effect that I am learning where a coin is pushed below a purse on table using thumb, while at the same time a coin is released from CP to FP thus looking like a transpo. Can anyone tell me the name of this move or where can I learn more about this move?
Thanks for your time. |

I would say look into David Roth's Invisible Hole routine in his book Expert Coin Magic by Kaufman and Greenberg. Regards, Gregg Webb

Or Dave Neighbors. I believe he's developed moves like this.

In Paul Gertner's Steel and Silver Book, there's a section on the Flick move. Apparently Vernon was shown by Downs, who may have originated the idea.

The thumb flick can be found in Downs book as one of the numbered vanish methods.
Using a vanish method in conjunction with a production is SOP for transformation effects.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

I have a routine published in my "The Works" lecture notes called "Under, On and In" that uses this move. It was originally published in Josh Jay's column in Magic back in like 2003. Three coins are removed from a purse and the purse is placed off to the side on the table. The coins are displayed on the table and then scooped off and into your hand. You then ask the spectator to wave their hand over your closed fist and when you open your hand all the coins have vanished. You then point over to the purse and a coin is seen resting on top. You then have them lift the purse up and another coin is underneath and finally they open the purse and find the third inside.
