I am curious...what is the coin trick you always do first, when asked to perform? I am not asking for a specific trick, but a plot (like spellbound, coins across, etc). If I am sitting down I will always do a coins through table first. Stand up, I will either do a coins across, or spellbound. How about you?
S.E.M. (The Sun, the Moon, and the Earth) is a sun and moon routine unlike any other. Limited to 100 sets, here is the promo:

If I'm actually at a gig, then it's coin in bottle. If someone randomly asks to see a trick, and I don't have my bottle, probably coins across.

I like doing the coin into pencap (striking vanish) and then go into a modified re-cap routine. I work in the ER and kids are usually scared. Often, I do it as an ice breaker- the kids are more receptive to their care and their nurse.
not the most amazing trick ever- its quick, visual, funny and breaks the ice... |

4 coin production followed by coins across to their hand. The 4 coin production is if I foresee being asked and can load up secretly while talking to them. Then they really get a surprise when you pluck the 1st coin out of the air in response to their question! If I'm sitting down, I'd probably do coins through table instead of coins across.
For borrowed coins, 3/4 across (Greg Wilson) or C/S. |

Coins across if standing. If at a table coins through with the last coin covered by a salt shaker and the shaker going through.

Quick & casual: THE "BUMP OUT KENNEDY" (half dollar) --or-- VANISH OF A LIT MATCH in one hand! The "encore" is a ring and shoelace routine).
If at a table: a routine that involves Jack Chanin's TV PRODUCTION (of a silver dollar and a penny) followed by a "Gypsy Switch" of the two coins involving the penny changing to the BIG DOLLAR SIZE (Sudbury)PENNY (in the spec's. hand). BIG PENNY AND DOLLAR WRAPPED IN HANDKERCHIEF AND COIN SELECTED BY SPECTATOR IS REMOVED THROUGH THE CLOTH. Finally, the ancient EXPANSION OF TEXTURE. Depending on circumstances, the "follow up" bit is a copper and silver switch between my hand and spec's hand. If the situation is "right", I follow with a series of several different knot tricks and "napkin folds" using the handkerchief. (A second handkerchief is available for the vanishing knot (what you young guys call the "Slydini Knots", but it is first "found" in "HOCUS POCUS JR.") (For you fellows in the UK: This handkerchief knot bit was a big feature of Charlie Edwards a great busker, about 50 years ago (in London, I think!) Two safety pins and a small wand CAN follow above with a series of penetrations, but usually I close with the hdkf. knots.

A quick one coin routine. Starts CP, handwash w/L'masque load. One at a time open finger appearance.hold at fingertips and french drop as you hand to them condition them two more times and 3rd when they think they have it, pretend to french drop and cp as you fake it to them, then show the other hand empty. Handwash again and reappear as originally done dropping coin into their hand or on table for examination. (There is a whole line of patter I have for every step of the way that works very well in conditioning them of what to expect or not.)

Producing 3 or 4 coins....and jaming with them...depending on my mood, # of spectators (1-.....?)and what is in the area....
For instance if there is a metal file cabinent ...I might include a coin and a cat in a clothes dryer imitation. Harris with palms of aluminum foil...for a lighter touch in coin magic....

I have a set of 3 such "Go-To" tricks, that include a coins across I simply ,call "Kemosabe," my little version of 3 Fly called "FlySki", and a spellbound/copper-silver type effect, affectionately known as "ReVisiTed."
I can do any of them effortlessly right up close, and to much amazement each and everytime out. But if I had to say one over the others, it would be the effect in the last genre mentioned here, "ReVisiTed." It's probably my most favorite on-the-spot coin thing to do, mostly because it involves my core stuff. And when I add in my little, "Ringa-Dinga" at the end sometimes...Oh boy - Ya'better watch out now! It's like sprinkling magic on top of magic.

Ok as for intimate magic 1 or some persons its better for one. I will go with a version of the 2 coins routine.(what is dexterity? what is magic?)
as for a group I will go with a version of three fly (the fastest coin trick in the world) cuz its a wide open trick and alowed me for better comunication and to gain their attention so I can control it latter
