Why are so many of these climate models made by certain climate scientists so wrong? Why were these predictions so far off so many times? These guys are either inept or lying on purpose. Ten years ago we were told the ice caps would be so diminished the oceans would be flooding the mainland and the poor polar bears would have starved to death by now. But it was either a Lie or just plain Incompetence at their government jobs. Either way they were wrong. AND(On the logical side) there is no hard proof that human produced CO2 emissions are the actual cause of global warming. The other planets are warming too. (No humans to speak of there) Could it just be the sun?

Not according to this: Only 36 percent of geoscientists and engineers believe that humans are creating a global warming crisis, according to a survey reported in the peer-reviewed Organization Studies.

"This is pretty classic denialist cherry-picking and and is one of the most common deceptive practices of denialists like Taylor. By suggesting a survey of industry geoscientists can be generalized to scientists as whole, Taylor has demonstrated the intellectual dishonesty inherent in denialist argumentation. You might as well make claims about the consensus that tobacco causes lung cancer by surveying scientists in the Altria corporation headquarters.
"The paper is actually quite interesting, and I’m glad I read it, as it is consistent with our thesis that ideological conflicts result in refusal to accept science that contradicts one’s overvalued ideas or personal interests. The authors surveyed a professional association of geoscientists in Alberta Canada (APEGGA), most of whom are working for the petroleum industry, and then performed a detailed analysis of their free-text responses on why they accept or reject climate science. What they found was there are 5 general “frames” used by respondents that their answers conformed to. The most common response was that global warming is real, and we need to act with regulation to address the problem (at 36%, the number quoted by Taylor to suggest there is no consensus), another 5% expressed doubt at the cause but agreed green house gases needed to be regulated. The second most common responses were “it’s nature” or “it’s a eco-regulatory conspiracy” and these responses showed a great deal of hostility in language towards environmentalism, proponents of global warming, liberalism etc. These came in at about 34% of responses and were more common from older white males in the higher tiers of the oil industry corporate structure. The most common remaining frame was a “fatalist” frame (17%) which could take or leave the science because hey, we’re screwed no matter what we do." In other words .. Your links are BS... "Today, you have a widespread scientific consensus, supported by national academies and all the major scientific institutions, solidly behind the warning that the temperature is rising, anthropogenic CO2 is the primary cause, and it will worsen unless we reduce emissions." And AGAIN..."The only relevant factor the earth and Mars share is the sun, so if the warming were real and related, that would be the logical place to look. As it happens, the sun is being watched and measured carefully back here on earth, and it is not the primary cause of current climate change." Simply saying it ISN'T because I say it isn't doesn't quite cut it. The sun heats the earth ... They admit it!!!

On Nov 24, 2015, RNK wrote: I've responded to this in Feb, 2013 (when the article was new). The article that the Forbes article cites (Lefsrud and Meyer, 2013) did not conduct a survey of scientists. It didn't even try. In fact, they only looked at engineers and geonscientists actively working in the oil and gas industry in Alberta. Further, the point of the article is to explore the means by which rationalizations are formed. The Forbes author either didn't read, didn't understand, or chose to distort the article he quoted. Quote:
What is more, the fact that we study experts who work as corporate representatives and/or policy advisors makes apparent the social and political dimensions of this framing controversy. The influence of individual experts on decision-making is dependent on their embeddedness within their organizations. To buttress this misrepresentation, the Forbes author cites two surveys of media weathermen/women. Even there, 89% agree that the climate is changing due to human factors, but only 30% express that they are "very worried" about it. No shock that the Forbes article is basically a fabric of lies and half-truths. Neither is it a shock that RNK and Slim are impressed by it.

I have no idea in all honesty. But at a glance my first thought is no. I only answer the question, not add support to either side.

I just went down to the Beach ... It isn't flooded. No one is drowning...We had to use our heat in the house ... It's cold in Florida. It's not overheating. The polar bear populations are doing just fine. They aren't starving any more than normal. Looks like the Antarctic is got massive sheets of ice on it again this year. We still have the same amount of glaciers that we've always had. I think Mt.St. Helens is growing a new one ..
97% of scientists don't agree. If they did we wouldn't be having this thread. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!!!! We are still alive!!!! Global Warming hasn't killed anyone on this thread as far as I can see....
