It is not the science. It is those who pervert it to push an agenda.

I.E.- after connecting two wires we KNOW the car will start. That's a fact. But the accuracy and precision of the data in measuring temperature greater than 100 years ago is not a fact but a theory/hypothesis, scientists best guess. These are entirely different scenarios.

Another prediction fizzles.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/energ......planned/ "For Pope Francis’s D.C. visit, environmental rally of up to 200K planned" http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2015/09......webfeeds "Pope’s Visit To D.C. Inspires Hundreds To Rally For Climate Justice" Nearly as accurate as the climate models predictions of warming for the last decade and a half. |

AGW is like evolutionary theory in that a large number of know-nothings plug their ears and run around shouting that it's bad science because it interferes with their most deeply held convictions. Plug your ears all you want. The science is good, and every competent scientist knows it.

Now name calling? Nice.
I did not say anything about the science. I thought your analogy was pretty lame and just wrong.

It's not an analogy: it's a list of scientific disciplines. Each has the same strengths and weaknesses inherent to science. Medicine and space flight deal with incomplete data, imperfect theories, established theories and laws, partial models and so on. So does climate science.
Yet, the armchair critics want to jump up and down and scream that because climate science has incomplete data, partial models and imperfect theories it somehow doesn't meet the thresholds of other sciences. It's complete BS. And it's tiresome.

But you're right about one thing. It does it tiring. |

Funny, being a scientist myself, I know many scientists/college professors who don't believe in GW. But I must just not know better even though I converse with scientists everyday.

Of coarse, I know better than to say I know EVERY compitent scientist and speak for them on what they believe.

I'm making a statistical case--that's science. I'll settle for the 97% of climate scientists.

And what exactly do 97% of scientists agree on?
1. That global warming is happening? 2. That the primary cause is manmade? 3. That the effects will be catostrophic? 4. That the projections of how much global warming there will be are accurate? 5. That we can expect millions of climate refugees over the next 20 or 30 years? 6. That Florida will be under 20 feet of water by the end of the century? I would bet that at best you can make the claim of 1 and 2 and find little evidence to support your 97% agreement on anything else. |

@J, how do you illuminate a Dark Forest? Cixin Liu says be quiet. Others figured out that Shannon had a better answer that is not babble. Why come across as snooty to those who are not attempting to communicate with you?
