Can someone please confirm for me if I have this right.

Pavel's Simplified Walking Knot - Can be cut and then the knot untied at 2 other places on the rope. Can't tug on rope.

Pavel's Super Walking Knot - Can be cut where the spectator calls out ( 13 I believe ) Can't tug on rope.

Knot Unexpected 2.0 - Can cut in middle but can only untie in 1 other spot. Can tug on rope or have spectators hold rope.

Have I got this right ?

And if I am, where might I look for the Pavel gear ?

I just received the "Not Walking Knot" routine, which is like a walking knot with an un-gimmicked rope. FANTASTIC. It's unavailable from dealers as near as I can tell, but still available directly from his website.

The effect is from Michael J. Fitch

Daz - just go directly to pavelmagic.com for all of the information on Pavel's magical ropes.
Here is a quote from Pavels site with regards to the 'Super Walking Knot': "The rope is cut at ANY position designated by the audience. The two pieces are tied together. The knot is then openly moved to ANY other position. And is untied there!! This can be repeated as many times as wished."
Hope this helps!

I'll have to search again. I can find his booking/magic site, but not the products. I will search for the link that was originally sent to me.

Mike, did you buy it in Great Britain?

This is the only link I find:

Here is a you tube demo. It appears to be a well constructed routine with several moves of various origins.

It is a very good routine...and only easy to figure for someone who understands the concepts of magic.

I would MUCH refer this over a gimmicked rope that you CAN'T hand out if you get called on it.

Very good thinking on the 2nd routine on YouTube, that was Jim Steinmeyer's Knot Unexpected then a Daryl move, then David Williamson's Ring and Rope moves without the ring.

It is like I have been trying to get across to many of the members here on the Café. As you learn more and more magic, this allows you to see what may fit where, and as a result a new routine or handling develops. It is not enough just to read or watch videos of tricks, the magician has to actually learn all the material. This way it gets entered into your brain will it will start to accumulate your knowledge. As you work on each trick, your brain will start to see what might fit another trick and you are starting to become creative.

The more you learn and actually physically do, the more creative you will become. That is why they say knowledge is power, but reading and watching is only entertainment.

Andre:

Actually I got it from a fellow Café member used.

His website is on the front of the DVD, but I couldn't find it listed there.

Exceptionally well said, Bill!

Just skimming a book or viewing a tape of DVD, is somewhat like the ancient story of the ship that's going out to sea, and a young sailor and an old sailor are standing at the ship's rail viewing the vast ocean. The young fellow exclaims: "Wow! That's a lot of water out there!" The old veteran responds: "What you see is ONLY THE TOP OF IT!"

Or, Alexander Pope's "comments" might also obtain: "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Drink deep or taste not the Pyrhean Spring. There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain. While drinking largely sobers us again."
