Would you like to start America in safe mode, with free healthcare and without guns? Recommended

I'd rather reboot to an earlier restore point, complete with a federal government that acted within narrowly and specifically designed enumerated powers.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley.

Ah, Lobo, when would that be? How far do we go back? Before the Louisiana Purchase? (And I have a very specific reason for choosing that event: the dude who had to legally justify it was the same dude who thought we ought to have a revolution every decade or so.)

I'd reboot it to colonial times. Life was never the same after you upstarts took our colonies.

So you really want America version 8.1 with the start button and sizable tiles?
No idea what the pitch for "trustworthy computing" was about.
Trusted to require updates and open access for those given license to any user data perhaps?

Interesting choice of date. I have to admit the significance escapes me.

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
All right, all right

You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
But when you want money
For people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
All right, all right
Ah

Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah...

You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
All right, all right
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right

For the record, I laughed at Tomsk's joke. Well conceived.
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.--Yeats

I think you may need to install a modern operating system. Don't tell me, you're still clinging to Windows 1.0.1 (or, God forbid, PC-DOS)?

I'm guessing Marbury vs. Madison, the Supreme Court case which said that the Supreme Court is the ultimate arbiter of the meaning of the Constitution.

When I hear that song, I always wonder about the FBI's extensive harassment of John Lennon as a commie. Really, I suspect William F. Buckley Jr. was the ghostwriter.

"Don't you know that you can count me out "

which he immediately follows by saying "In" on the album. It was left off the single.

Exactly- the government should go back to what it was originally intended for: keeping the power to the people and our safety! Let the rules and regulations be created by the State governments.

PC-DOS worked in its day, too. Smile

I remember meeting an English actor named Paul Darrow at a ''Blakes 7'' convention, one of the fans asked how he liked America and he responded;
''I love it. I want it back.''
