How about wear and tear/durability? I really like how this looks, but I suspect the motion capability could degrade after repeated use.

It was funny that in the demo video at one point one of the women spectators tried to grab the doll from his palm while it was still standing on his palm and he quickly moved his hand away.

I think that is part of his presentation. It happens each time.

Hey Emyers99. So that's a Great point and actually one of the coolest things about the Upgrade is that for starters..Rogue teaches another cool little idea that doesn't involve your hand if your wife is afraid of you doing it the classic way. And secondly one of the coolest details is the the "gimmick is well made that it is practically invisible to the naked eye and there for unless the person know's exactly how it works, they can actually lay the doll in there hand and Nothing will happen. Smile

Misophoniac, I've known Rogue for over 15 years, He owns one of the coolest Magic Shops down in NY. And Ive seen him literally MASTER this trick and so when you the spectator reaches for it, it is because he actually tells them to do so. He gives some great Performance tips in the DVD on to why it's great to have them be involved and touch the doll vs trying to hide it

Sorry last message was for MAGICINSIGHT LOL...Misophoniac, Yea great question about durability. All the dolls will be made out of a strong but very Light solid wood. Rogue literally keeps his in his wallet. The Dolls will be very resistant and durable both to falls and or liquids ect.

Looks interesting, would go great with Outlaw's WA & DS, ya the whole pre order thing can become tiresome as promises are only kept without pre knowledge of product delays for the creator, become out of they're control spiraling into product supply & shipping back ups. However I do & may go against my general rule of not to pre order also not to have product buyers remorse before reading a few reviews.......

My only question that maybe you Devontemagic could answer, is the gimmick something that would wear out after a lot of use & not replaceable ? I could see combining this with a few Witchcraft type effects I have & if I would be best to order 2 to cover future performances......?

All in all looks pretty cool not having seen the original straw version. I did get a chuckle when the girl went to pick it up out his hand & he pulled back,.....but the best was the girl at the end that seemed extra spooked by it & as he went towards her she jump & was like "NO thank you, I ain't touch'in that !!" & bolted off....LoL

Hey Merlinsmagic

Well I guess there is only one way to tell if these dolls last and that's to do a test where someone literally performs the Haunted Doll several times a day/ for several years. Luckily we have this individual who HAS done just that, Rogue has been using the same doll for almost 5 years now. But this is for sure the type of trick you want to buy two of not because it might break or wear out but because you'll either have the second as back up in your parlor or close up kit, or simply because they are all custom made and may one day come off the market. Hope that Helped Smile

Completely answered & helped ! Thank you Smile Nothing worse than finding out after that you get something that you get 10 performances before you have to replace item & not mentioned in ads....LoL

Having a second for those reasons sound good to me - what is it about witchcraft-ish items STILL freak people out,.....guess it's deep in our ancient id of things that bring or may have evil.......(Hwa-Haa-Haa)

How many times has this been tested before a real audience?

Well Rogue owns a magic shop, and performs it about 20 times a day, on a slow day. He also goes out promoting his store at night and performes it more then..he has been doing this for about 20 years..that's a lot of math lol

It really is his number one effect to perform, and I remember him showing me when I was 13, when he got me into magic. He is the reason I am where I am today!

I can almost guarantee there is not a single person who has done this effect more then him. Even Magick Balay, one of the most active demonstraters of magic, since Tannes was truly the empire that makes it name says, he has never seen it performed better.

Thanks SIX!

That's great to hear. I didn't want to pre-order something that has never been tested in the real world, or only tested a few times.

Is Rogue the same as Rogue Magic shop on Queens Blvd. in RegoPark, N.Y? It is about 15 minutes from my house. Are there still shows on Thursday nights?

This has inspired me to think of a way to do this with any playing card. After doing a card effect with any random card, particularly a court card, tear the card into the shape of a person and make it rise. I think this would make the effect even more powerful than any doll. It could be made to rise in a couple ways:

1. The age old haunted doll method
2. Gaeton Bloom's method

This could be pretty awesome!

Having done the haunted key and the precursor to Rogue's Haunted Doll, I don't think tearing a card into a shape and doing the routine would be the same. Not saying it wouldn't be good, but the impact of using a dark and spooky figure wouldn't be the same.
