Many thanks for the quick informative reply,it answers my qestion, again many thanks proberly stick with the one I have as it seems to only be appearance that is different with this, all the best. Shane [/quote] I'd prefer the term "craftsmanship" over "appearance." It's a little pricey, but it is gorgeous. |

Someone asked about the DVD being glitchy. Yes. Mine was. I couldn't navigate the menu very well at all.

I performed a routine that I used to use with the old Okitio Doll. Might not be for everyone, but I thought I'd share it.

I'm a writer by nature and tend to ramble when I'm excited about something. I'll try to keep my posts more concise in the future. (but I'll admit I did a good laugh at you pointing it out). While on the subject of writing though, I might as well plug two of my books (forgive me for hustling) that while not directly related to magic, both have magic related material in them. One is a memoir of working my first job at a Christmas themed amusement park where I share the story of performing a trick with a staple gun, a dollar bill, and my forehead to try & impress a female coworker. The other is a fiction novel where the protagonist uses David Copperfield-like rose tissues to try an pick up ladies at a party (ending up getting roundhouse-kicked in the face). Both are guaranteed to make you laugh out loud multiple times or your money back! http://www.santasvillagegonewild.com & http://www.blackout-drunk.com Sorry to hijack the thread, back to talking about the awesome HD! |

On 2013-11-14 12:11, SIX wrote: Actually, Devonte simply explained why a download wouldn't be cheaper than a dvd, I don't believe there was an answer to the replacement doll question. And of course there's a market for "refills". There are plenty of tricks that need and offer cheaper replacement gimmicks or items without a need for the instructional video that accompanies the original purchase. I gave one example and there are others. Obviously if materials or manufacturing costs are part of the reason for a high price then that won't be the case. But if someone purchased this and the doll was lost, broken, stolen, or maybe they just want a backup, there is no need for the dvd and I assumed the instructional dvd was the main reason for the price since the materials and manufacturing cost can't be very high. I could make one for pennies in a few minutes. I think the price is reasonable for the dvd with the doll especially for someone who doesn't know how it works, but since you seem to be saying the dvd cost is negligible I just feel it's a little high for only the doll. I bought mine after reading about it and wanted to see what the improvements were. It's a great little doll, but there's not really anything groundbreaking about it. Is it better than previous commercially available versions? Yes, so kudos to Rogue and System 6. Is it better than what I've made myself? Sorry, but not really. That's not to say it's worse, as I said it's a great little doll. But I did the same thing as far as using a smaller gimmick, it only made sense, and there are many ways to help camouflage it depending on the type of doll, of which I've made a few, including one somewhat similar to the HD. As far as creating a box for it, I don't see that being necessary. Stick it in a bubble mailer, stamp do not bend on it and you're good to go, nothing extra needed. Please don't take my post the wrong way since it may sound harsh but that's the nature of the internet. The HD is great, I love it and have posted positively about it in this post and others. You seem to have many happy customers, and rightly so. It's simply my opinion that original purchasers of the HD w/dvd should have the option to purchase a replacement doll at a lower price since you are no longer paying for a secret, but essentially an inexpensive replacement part. I'm obviously in the minority as I've seen very few posts about the cost so feel free to ignore me but good gestures towards your customers can go a long way and it's not like I'm saying cut all your profits and sell it for 5 bucks or something crazy. I wouldn't have rambled so much here but I was a bit put off by your "Hey!", which I may have taken the wrong way. As I mentioned, nature of the internet. P.S. Looking forward to the Believe cards. I have a couple other things from System 6 on my wish list and as I mentioned, I'm very happy with my HD. Continued success to you. |

I don't always offer it, but if they ask it can also make the magic stronger when they look and see nothing. Of course, depending on the presentation, they sometimes don't want to touch it. If I'm doing a "creepy" version I do sometimes hold it out to them and it's kind of fun to see them step back. |

UPDATES: New Streaming Options coming this week / Possible Refill Ideas with New Limited Dolls that allow you to hang it on your necklace
Fire Starter: You asked is the doll simply different in aesthetics, the simple answer is No. The Haunted doll utilizes the same method as the original Okito Doll, Yes it's made to be slimmer and more durable thus making its appearance different. But what "I believe" makes this Doll COMPLETLETLY different, in my opinion I would even dare to say Better, or in Dan sperry's opinion "I hated the older version, I love the Haunted Doll" ....It's the attention to detail, that makes this doll different, You see the gimmick wasn't just made to be smaller and nearly invisible making it "completely examinable" to a lay person BUT we took time in serching for the perfect gimmick that wasn't to doll or too sh...rp. All in all Yes I can give out the doll before and after the effect, I genuinely could not say the same about "any" of they previous versions. but hey you can definitely stick with the original, then again it was the inspiration for this one. Just wanted to make clear that we would have not released something unless we felt we made a signifacant improvement Jerskin / Daffydoug : You mentioned about a glitchy DVD and Daffy your mentioned having problems navigating. I would be more than happy to try and help. So as we mentioned before, System 6 is going Digital soon and will make available streaming options for mostly gimmick less tricks. That being said I want to make sure I support those that might have bought the DVD and May have had issues. We will send a private link this week of a streaming video of the Haunted Doll. to anyone who has issues watching the DVD. We would love to keep this specific video offline for now but I want to make sure you guys get what you paid for and "more" Dr Van Van magic : Oh Dr Van Van Magic, what more can I say but "my apologies for not, giving you a direct reasonable answer to your question" I wasn't being sarcastic neither, I would hate it if I asked something and it felt like the other person/company were skating around the question. So to finally bring some type of answer or response to the long awaited question of "will there be refills available? And will they be less expensive?. The answer right off the back is that we are still discussing both questions and we simply don't have a definite YES or NO for neither question. All in all, here is what I'll leave everyone with. As of now YES, we are actively working on a way to make refills available, the only reason why it hasn't been made available yet, is to make sure that the Magic Dealers who bought the Haunted Doll w/ DVD, don't get stuck with the DVD's because everyone decided to buy the replacement doll for cheaper. We understand this is a problem that can be resolved but we just simply want to go about it, in a way that is a WIN / WIN for both consumers and our magic dealers. We do have an idea that we have been exploring, which is that we may be releasing a limited number of a replacement Doll and handmade Box Set. So basically if you own the DVD, this will allow you to purchase a hand made old, wooden, spooky box that comes with its own Haunted Doll (which acts as a replacement) the price we would imagine would not signifacantlt drop, might even stay at 29.95. But this will allow someone who already purchased the DVD to buy a second one. Of course it wouldn't make sense to pay the exact same price withou the DVD and just a doll, but buying a cool spooky handmade box that brings a Haunted Doll with it (possibly altered to clip onto a necklace). We might only make this available of course to people who own the DVD. We might even ask a Password Question only available to those who own the DVD, like what color shirt is Rogue wearing in the DVD. Hope this adds clarity to both our thinking behind your question and our current state. We will continue to keep you updated on options to get a second doll Love, Hugs and Applesauce - Devonte |

All of these coffins and such are all very nice, but the problem for me is that you can't have it both ways.
Either I need to stick with wearing HD as a necklace, or I have to choose one of these cases. If I have it in a case, it will be in my pocket where nobody will see it or ask me about it. If I do the necklace, everyone will ask me about it, but it won't have the advantage of a spooky start right from the beginning. I wish there was a way to do both.

They completely derail the mystery. They look fabricated and have absolutely nothing to do with the earthy appeal of the doll. You are far better off finding a rusty can, a distressed box, or a greasy old cloth. The entire appeal of the effect begs the question, "Where did this thing come from?" You'd want the container to ask the same. The doll deserves better than a toy tin.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
