Hi, All!
I had incorporated the balloon to bunny into my act a few months ago, but alas my rabbit (a bit large for a mini rex) has, alas, outgrown it. Not to worried about the effect, I'll use doves instead. However, I now have an unemployed rabbit that gets a much greater reaction than the doves. I am, however, having a hard time finding kid-appropriate (no vivisecting, please!) illusions to use with my growing rabbit. He's in the neighborhood of 4-5 pounds, and I need something relatively portable. Any ideas? Many thanks! -Tom

I can only suggest you do some shopping at http://www.abbottmagic.com here is the livestock section:
http://www.abbottmagic.com/Livestock-Magic_c28.htm If your rabbit is still growing, I believer the Doves to Duck effect would fit nicely, as you said you have some doves. Only use your rabbit, as the table top is very large and give the rabbit room to grow. They also have some very nice rabbit productions, so you should spend some time browsing. You can email your questions to them for a response and availability. |

Years ago, I made a Head Cremation which worked along the lines of a really large Square Circle. It didn't take me long to realize that it also could be USED like a giant SC. It would hold one of my rabbits, who was VERY large. The closed top on the gimmick prevented him from sticking his head up over the top before he should have! The closed bottom on the gimmick meant that all I had to do was lift the tube and the gimmick together when I wanted him to appear. No fire used, of course.

Thanks for the resources and ideas...
This morning, I was brainstorming doing a levitation with him rather than a production. Perhaps a zombie-like asrah... -Tom

"Pass-Through Tube Effects" in my Hardboard and Duct Tape Magic - Book 2 has several solutions for the oversized bunny that can be made from pieces cut from cardboard cartons so you can find the right size and test the possibilities with a prototype before you commit to making it from hardboard and duct tape or plywood and screws. The large rabbit is difficult to lift and carry, and it can't be very comfortable for the rabbit after he reaches a certain size, so these solutions let him simply appear inside the box without making any demands on him other than to put up with a lot of petting.

You may want to also consider The Rainbow House. It is very comfortable for your rabbit. Check it out here http://www.laflinmagicstore.com/ProductD......ode=MRHP Mark

Luckily, I'm handy at building stuff because I had to build bigger illusions for my full figure bunny.

If you want to do a levitation then take a look at Tony Marks huge rabbit levitation. He made a reputation with it. It is published in the book describing his act by Bev Bergeron. The book is called Tony Marks Aristocrat of Deception $40. It does require you to build a large cage box. So if you are not able to cut and build, then you will have to find a craftsman to make it for you.
