I finally attached my bill to the gimmick and have been practicing, watching the change in a mirror. Amazingly cool!!

I gave this another new wrinkle in my show tonight. In my routine as you know a folded card in the card box instantly and visually changes places with a signed bill at your fingertips. Well I came up with a loop hookup that allows me to levitate the dollar a couple of feet over the card box and the already visual change. now takes place in mid air with my hands not even touching the bill... Talk about some open mouths in disbelief with this one..only issue is the change sometimes breaks the loop. Gonna keep refining it though. It looks amazing. it really is a show stopper. It took me a while to get them focused on another effect they kept taking about this one.

I will.try to see if I can get a video of the change while it levitates. looks great but consistently breaks the loop. I hope I can resolve it. it would be a bit costly to go through a loop per performance. I've been through 8 already trying to work.it out.

Well time to eat a little crow here.
In my excitement to share my levitating loop change I think I jumped the gun. I got it to work a couple of times early on but have been unable to reliably duplicate it. I can do the hookup and levitate the "bill" but because of the way I have to hook up to keep the gimmick in the correct position the loop gets tangled 80% of the time when I release. Often this fouls the change an snaps the gimmick to my left hand. Those of you who work loops will know what I mean. I can break the loop and the change happens with the card falling to the table. I have field tested reactions to my routine both with and without the levitation and have decided that the original version without the levitation is very nearly as strong. Besides being 30 loops poorer in two weeks makes me feel like the juice isn't worth the squeeze for this. I may still do it on special occasions but breaking loops regularly just wont do. Well anyway thanks to all of the wonderful feedback on my routine and I am glad you like it. Sorry to build up hopes for this other part. Next time I'll keep my mouth shut till I know it will work consistently. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, Dannicus

Any chance that Mickael will offer replacement gimmicks at some point? I see others mentioning having to change their gimmicks. I noticed on mine that while making the folds tight by creasing the card starts looking old real fast. The card's back kind of peels away a bit at the creases. (After creasing and re-creasing a few times to get it as square as possible). I'd prefer purchasing a new gimmick to cutting and gluing to another card, as suggested by Dan. But I would hate to have to pay full price for just a replacement.
Thank you. Jim |

So, I was in a Walmart the other day, and someone in the electronics department recognized me and asked me to perform a trick for them. I did... And a crowd began to gather... So I did another... Then I noticed one of the employees pull out their phone and start recording, so I did this...

Thanks a lot! So, as you can see, if you don't open with this, the reactions are good enough that everyone is too busy flipping out to even think about asking to see the card. Lol

Great performance Matty! So much fun!
I am interested in this trick but here in Canada the bills are almost all "polymer" (unless you get an old bill). They are difficult to fold, so generally most people only fold them in half. Any more folded and it looks suspicious. But I'm still interested in the mechanics, as a magic builder. Is there a way to buy the method without buying the gimmick? |

I make most of my own gaffs and gimmicks, and this one is pretty difficult to get right, so much so that I've been thinking about looking into buying just the gimmick, however, I will tell you that this has a lot less to do with the bill than you might think it does, and despite the way it may look, the gimmicked bill doesn't really need to be "creased" per-say, so you might be able to use the Canadian currency without a problem. Good luck! |

I thought the gimmick quality was bad. My gimmick broke as soon as I pasted the bill onto the the f**p and it snapped in half.
