I am new to this forum (though have been lurking for many months) and wanted to use my first post to sing the praises of Dan Wolfe at Smoky Mountain Magic.
By way of background, I am not a professional magician, but I have a Christmas show that I perform every year at this rather beautiful venue in England: http://www.kentwell.co.uk/hall-gardens/house Earlier this year, Dan built a Mini Kub Zag for me, with an "Oriental Dragon" artwork theme. It's a stunningly beautiful prop and I was amazed at the precision of the engineering - it really does work like a dream. This will be the new closer for this year's Christmas show, which is undergoing a serious upgrade this year. But, to complete the flow of the story arc that my wife and I have devised, we decided we needed an opening illusion to introduce my Oriental assistant. We decided that the "Stack of Boxes" effect, with BA in the bottom box, would be ideal. So I approached Dan and asked if he could build one for me, using the same Oriental Dragon artwork. He agreed. You can see the result on the Smoky Mountain Magic's Facebook page, here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=......&theater I was completely blown away by Dan's work, and told him so. Then - disaster!! I had an email from Dan to say that, because of the US Government shut down, the crated-up effect was stuck with US Customs who were operating at 3% capacity. Dan told me that he had some contacts and would do what he could to get the shipment moving. I thought that was nice of him, but I admit my hopes weren't high - after all, people with more clout than me (which is pretty much everybody) would surely be doing much the same. I should have had more faith. Yesterday, I had an email from the shipper to say the consignment is due at London Heathrow TODAY! I don't know what Dan did, but he came through. He's the best. Can't wait to get my hands on it now! |

I believe that Dan has photos of some of the Customs people with farm animals.
Dan's an incredible craftsman...you will be happy! JMHO
