THIS is good. Very clever Jamie. I will put this together tomorrow and work it, without the special something until it gets here. 10 out of 10.

Got my pdf as well. Read through it and liked it very much.
Now waiting for the rest. Quiet not sure if I will use this little gimmick because I don´t know how it fits into the story and I do not want to use it just for the effect itself. Half of a finger with the ring on it would be nice for Halloween But again, will wait for the rest of Scream and decide then what I will do.... |

Got the pdf and saw the video. This effect isn't for everyone, and the problem is that the ending
,which Jamie doesn't want you to reveal, is really the "deal breaker". The ending will determine if this effect is for you or not. You can change the ending, but it wouldn't be the same effect and the first part isn't really a stand alone effect IMO. I understand why Jamie doesn't want the ending revealed, but it makes the desicion impossible. I don't think that I even feel that I can re sale it to someone without him knowing the ending, there is a good chance that it would be resold again. I don't think that this effect is for mentalists or bizzarists IMHO, it will not fit with performers that do such things as L*n@ and such. I guess that there will be a couple of these available for re sale. If anyone thinks that this could fit with routines like L*n@, please let me know how. It isn't bad, its just doesn't fit a "serious" mentalist or bizzarist, and it will be impossible for anyone to know if it fits them, without knowing the ending. |

Hey guys,
A quick chime in! This effect isn't for everyone but that is the same with any effect. This is an effect created for this time of the year especially. For those who are discounting the first part of the effect as being a bit of a throw away, I REALLY urge you to perform this at least once and check out what happens when people see the missing face. THEN I would totally accept that it is possibly not for everyone! The ending is seriously good fun! To me, it really finishes of the effect well. Those who try it will truly appreciate the impact such a simple effect can have! Jamie Daws

I was counting my pennies paying for C0DEX V3N and missed out on this as I didn't think that the 50 copies would go quite so fast.
I agree, if the ending is what I think it is, then like Jamie says it's a shock end Halloween type fun thing rather than a serious piece of mentalism. You probably wouldn't perform it alongside Lun@, C0DEX, or WS or anything, but you might get it out later in the night at your themed party when your friends have had a few drinkies just for the 'scream' of it. I may be tempted to take one off somebodies hands in the UK should they want to part with it. I've not even torn up my He's Not Here photo's yet and I'm after another! Ha! Bryn. |

I would consider this more a prank than anything else. I have not tried it yet because as soon as I saw where things ended up I knew it was not something to add to my routine - but more what I would consider a party trick (many may disagree). I am sure this is exactly what a lot of people expected and they will no doubt get many screams with it. Since there will only be 49 other people doing it you are pretty much assured they will not have seen it before. I will have one for sale in the USA when I recieve the missing element. It is unused and since this effect requires something extra it is not one where selling it will cause there to be more than 50 performing the effect. Im not putting it for sale though until the final piece is in my possesion so that I don't get caught in the middle. I will sell it for what I bought it for (plus shipping) since it is a limited sold out item. (not trying to profit off the resale.)

Hi Jamie,
I can see that the first part can make an impression on the audience, but I argue that the second part undermines what you aim to achieve with the first part, and will make the audience's impression of the first part, well... less impressive. As an aspiring mentalist, I try to create an atmosphere, that while the first part may fit, the second will seriously damage. It will undermine the "seriousness" of the mood I'm trying to achieve. This is not to say that it's not good fun, and I'm pretty sure the audience will scream as advertised ;-) but I expected something that will follow the "mood" of the first part. There is a big difference between what the audience leaves with in effects as "white star" or "till death" as opossed to this effect. That's just my opinion, had I known what to expect from the ending, I may have passed on this one. It's more of a halloween trick rather than a piece of spooky or bizarre mentalism, and for that it is very effective and fun. You said "This effect isn't for everyone but that is the same with any effect", but I respectfully disagree, as usually you can see a trailer of sorts, and see the conclusion of the effect, than you decide if you like it. You might later be dissapointed by aspects such as the gimmick or practicality, but in this case you buy an effect that the ending of is unknown... not a lot of people will guess correctly the nature of the ending (i, for one, didn't) No biggie, I just think that in this perticular case, the chances of someone being dissapointed with it (especially if under the impression of the first part which is is described in the effect page) are a bit higher than usuall. I don't want you to get the impression that I'm angry or something like that, just a bit put off by the ending. I will incorporate the first part into my other meterial and will see how it goes, all the best, Dror |
