Readings. . . lots of Readings . . . I have two corporate parties next weekend as it stands and expecting confirmation on at least two other gigs based on my business card distribution deal.
Not a bad relaunch to my career (nearly a 4 year sabbatical). . . whole new style of performance and not as theatrical in content as I was initially planning. |

For Halloween, I exhibit the various books about Vampires: this includes the 1751 edition of Don Calmet's book, the second American edition of Dracula (with an autographed letter from Bram Stoker - signed by Irving, the March 1732 edition of Gentleman's Magazine (first mention of the word Vampire in English litterature), The original editions of Thabata the Destroyer, Minstrel of the North by John Stagg and the Giaour of Byron (1801, 1810 and 1813 - the three first poems and novels about vampire in English litterature, a 1625 edition of Rituale Romanum (with the Prayer of Exorcism), Du Sang - Blood - (Hayem - dedicated to Blomberg, the original creator of the vampire killing kits), ...
During this time, the Surnateum presents a exposé about the Eighteenth Century Vampire Hysteria followed by an hour show based on vampire mentalism. Ok, I'm still missing a first edition of Polidori's Vampyre, but the Surnateum accepts donations... |

Well,
The Mrs and I enjoy Halloween the most out of all the holidays in the year. We take 3 weeks leave from work and celebrate our anniversary first, then we are going on a harbour cruise for Halloween. We build and set up the house into some sort of haunted house. Trick Or Treaters this year will get a big suprise lol. Then we have our annual Halloween Ball that we throw and I will be performing some bizarre magic for our guests. Here is a snippit of last years Halloween Ball. http://youtu.be/AMEa9kkujP8 Cheers C |

Believe it or not...
The exterior of my house has been transformed into a tribute of m r James the ash tree on steroids This year the annual haunt / interior home party is indiana jones themed - have built themed rooms within including the golden idol with traps, the well of souls, pankot palace banquet room (including all the dishes served) the temple of doom area (a kali ma statue etc) the grail room (beverage area) and a warehouse area .... Heh, I even have a giant boulder effect I'm almost finished working on.... Exhausted but it must be done !!!!! And of course, the tame areas for the little ones where it's "happy halloween" with the traditional friendly dancing mummies, ghosts, Sparkly skulls snd cutie things ( that must be done too it seems) Night of, we organize an expedition for raiders of the lost candy

Pulling a 16 hour day. I'm in at 6am out at 10pm then a 45 minute drive home. My night guy has a family and I took his shift in the studio to allow him time with them.

Before the Vampire evening, I'll have 2 groups of visitors. The curious fact is that they're blind (aged from 9 to 15).
Hopefully, the Surnateum is also somekind of storytelling museum. |
