I notice for sale a book combining Corinda's 13 Steps and Rauscher's Encyclopedia. Is this a legit publication or is it like those DVDs from Malaysia? Please advise.

Never heard of such a book. Where is it listed for sale and who is selling it?

1878 Press Co. released it in 2011. I own one.

I never heard of this company.

The books listed are not public domain, so they would gave had to buy the rights to publish them.
But they don't have a legitimate URL and use a gmail email address.

Does anyone know anything about this company?

Looks like maybe it's owned by David Haversat. http://174.129.214.216/davidhaversatmagic/?page_id=24

That makes a little more sense. He probably kept these titles after the sale of SS Adams.

I think I recall checking into it. As I recall, the fellow simply put Corinda's 13 Steps and Rauscher's The Mind Readers in one volume and called it an "encyclopedia."

Rauscher's "The Mind Readers" is a fascinating book. (Mainly because I'm in it! Smile)

Seriously, though, it is a quirky but eclectic history of modern mentalism and contains many interesting photos and background on such legendary performers as Gene Dennis, etc. as well as many of today's workers.
