I have your DVD and CD and am now looking at buying a good set of bottles. I was tempted by the $1600 set from Japan but now see you are promoting the new Reg Donnelly set for a much more reasonable price. I spoke to Paul Gross at Hocus-Pocus and he said Regs new bottles look and feel just as good as the expensive Japanese set. Have you seen the Japanese ones and how do they compare?

I actually own the Japanese set made by Keisuke Hanada and used them for quite some time - they are perfect for television and look like real bottles. I had them on a ship recently and another act walked in to my room and saw all the bottles on my table - he thought I'd been in my cabin drinking all that wine. They look very real. The only issue is that they are lighter than a regular set so you need to be a little careful they don't fall over. I use them for a television show back in NZ and they looked fantastic.
Reg's new bottles I would say are the closest set of bottles I've ever seen that look as good as the Keisuke Hanada bottles. Reg started from scratch and had them designed so they look like wine bottles and even included the 'lip' at the top of the bottles - a real bonus feature. He has them custom made and hand paints each one. I am not familiar with his painting method but it's as close to real bottles as I've ever seen. They also are the perfect weight for my performing venues, especially on cruise ships. Reg made me a set up with various colors so I can do my routine, but is about to release a regular set of bottles that I think will be a huge hit with magician and at a price most people who want a great set can afford. Reg also made up a set of white rum bottles which look stunning. On the odd occasion I will perform this routine. Part of that is in the Pro-Series book Multiplying Bottles where the glasses vanish and change in to coke cans at the end. It is perfect if you use the song 'Rum and CocaCola' and is a fun routine using bottles to music. I would say the Rolls Royce of bottles are either Hanada's set or Reg Donnelly set - both are fantastic looking but quite a difference in price. I do know Paul Gross told me when he took Reg's sets to Magic Live they all sold out - so that certainly tells you something.

I recently visited Reg at his home and saw his bottles first hand. I was also treated to a review of his production process and can honestly say that his bottles are about the best I'd ever seen. The simple fact that the product labels are all different and easily recognizable from a distance makes his multiplying bottles superior to all others.

I recently purchased a set of Reg's bottles from Paul at the CAM event in Vancouver, BC. I am extremely pleased. They are a pleasure to work with.
