Hello. I've been playing with this idea for a while and recently really solved it as far as what I was trying to get out of the deck. I wanted to produce a Royal Flush instead of the selected card angle, and then display the Flush had different colored backs from the deck proper. The first thing I changed was to go for 4 Aces, not the Royal Flush. This way I could put the gaffed deck away and use the 4 Aces for, say, Twisting the Aces or such. Other little things that make it work, I put a short card Double Backer right at the division of D/B cards and Regular cards. The Aces with the wrong color backs are face down just above the short card. Then the regular cards face up. It all looks like a face UP deck. Lift at the short card and the left hand does a wrist turn to hide the fact of Double Backers. These are spread on table to show backs, closed up and then cut and complete the cut. The right hand holds a face up block. Spread it between the hands but stop short of the face down aces at the end. Close up the spread then do an 'in-hands' cut to center the aces in this group. Now Faro the two groups together. This doesn't have to be a perfect Faro at all, it is just that there is less chance of a flash of the Aces with a Faro than with a Riffle shuffle. We're done. Say the magic word and turn deck over and spread on table to reveal the aces face up and everything else seemingly face down. Take out the aces and turn them over to reveal different color backs ! Put the trick deck away and do Twisting the Aces or what. Regards, Gregg Webb
