That's what happens when short-sighted engineering decisions are made, valuing the bottom line over long term...

... wait, what are we talking about here?

Are you sure it was Ernie Ford that recalled Toronto? I thought he was the Lone Rangers sidekick.

It is alleged that a video of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford shows him smoking crack.

I'm just stunned that there was a political scandal that didn't somehow involve politicians in the U.S.A.

The mayor of Toronto is loved by the people of Toronto because he gets things done. I just don't know what to think of this guy.

There's tons. It's really hard to get Americans to talk about them, though.

When I ask Toronto residents about their mayor they all try to cover up for this guy. Them Canadians sure are easy going folks.

The mayor of Toronto is a real hoot

I am surprised to hear that. Most Torontonians I know of think Ford is an embarrassment, to say the least.

And there is much more to it than 'just' smoking crack, by the way ... although I don't think I want to get into listing all of Ford's actions. I'll just note that all four of the major Toronto newspapers (including two conservative ones that used to champion Ford) are calling for him to step down / resign. The Toronto Region Board of Trade is calling for the same thing.

Rob Ford's approval rating just jumped 5 percentage points.

Quote:
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is facing a growing chorus of calls to step down, but his approval rating actually inched up after police confirmed that Ford appears in a video that allegedly depicts the mayor smoking crack cocaine.

That's according to a new poll by Forum Research, which showed Ford’s approval rating rose by 5 percentage points to 44 per cent on Thursday, following a press conference in which police Chief Bill Blair revealed that police seized a hard drive containing a video "consistent with what has been described in the media."

Those numbers might seem counter-intuitive, conceded president of Forum Research Lorne Bozinoff, but they do show the unwavering support of Ford Nation.

“Remember we’re talking about approval rating, and that’s a question pertaining to his job as mayor,” Bozinoff told CBC News. “And as long as these allegations are not impinging on his ability to do his job, people are satisfied.”

The poll sampled opinions from 1,032 randomized residents, all contacted on Thursday night after Blair’s news briefing. A whopping 98 per cent said they were aware that police have confirmed the video exists.

Proving once again what every westerner knows from birth: Toronto has its collective head so far up its rectal orifice that it cannot distinguish its brain from its backside. Smile

All of the people I know from Toronto are magicians, and we all know how much they lie.

Please ignore angry bob and Rockwall they seem to be bent on dragging every thread through the dirt until it gets deleted because their aim is to disrupt the friendly exchange of ideas.

You are absolutely right half the people of Toronto think that he is an utter embarrassment, and the other half think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. He is simply a walking contradiction that half the citizens are proud of and the other half are ashamed of.

He is a fast moving, big mouth fat guy that half the people of Toronto love.

I love this story

Mark Lewis told me that he bumps into him at city hall all the time and he is a very nice man.
