To those who own a Barstool Levitation, do you use a volunteer with it? I have only used mine twice with a volunteer but I had to rehearse before the show. I am worried that if I just get a volunteer straight from the audience that it has a tendency to pinch the thighs.
I am thinking of making a cloth cover similar to how the chair suspension cloth is wrapped around the volunteer but in this case, a cloth only for the upper thighs. What do you think? Aside from this, I also think that a cloth should be used to cover the legs so that the gimmick will not be seen on the front and sides. But on the other hand, this will not look natural.

*Nothing* about those things look natural.
Or convincing. Here's what to do: (1) Find a dumpster. (2) Throw it in the dumpster. |

I think it is almost impossible to use a volunteer with this illusion. Body/ leg positioning is so important and requires a lot of practice. Any kind of cloth covering the person basically makes the illusion non-magical if it is not removed during performance.
