I am working on a routine and for one phase of the routine, I need to make a beanie baby disappear. I was looking through my current stash of apparatus and I really do not have anything to do the trick. It is a little big for a change bag. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what I should look to acquire. Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave:
If I remember correctly, a beanie baby is about the same size as a dove. What about using some type of dove vanish like a small tear-apart or take-apart vanish. Or better yet, how about a devil's hank? It seems Max Howard used to use DH to vanish one of balls for Stratosphere, so a beanie baby should work. Ron |

I would also think a nice flip fly bag would be good for a means of vanishing it. You could then vanish it and have streamers shoot out as it vanishes, or have it vanish and change into a silk. IT would work very well.
You could also use a tear-apart vanish as well but I wonder fi that might be a bit to large just to make the beanie baby vanish. Maybe if we knew a little more about your routine, we could help offer the best solution that fits your storyline, etc. Kyle

Depending on you and your audience please consider,
Beanie Babies over the head (ala Slydini's paper balls or the version in 81. I saw at the Desert Seminar - Rocks over the head/-by Philipe from France - you had to be there.) Happy HOYC. Harris

I recommend going to your favorite magic dealer with the beanie Baby and looking at production/vanish boxes.
Do you have Mark Wilson's Complete Course In magic? There are several vanish choices you can easily make in there. If you don't have this book I recommend the hard cover. It is very affordable and easy to find.

A topit, with assistance of a silk would work well too.

What about making it vanish in a square circle and reveal it later. Also, you could gimmick the S.C. to make the beanie baby disappear in the top of the tube, show the tube empty, then have a different beanie baby in the bottom to reveal later.
