Ohh yeah, David Blaine too Ed! I have no doubt you got more talent than David Blaine, Kim Kardashian and Chris Angel.

What Ed could do, is leave Walmart, take the money and send it to China to buy Chinese goods, import them into the USA and sell them to the USA people and probably double his money in no time. In ten yeas time Ed could be a wheel. Chairman Ed Smile

Unfortunately, as many before him have already found out, if he attempted to do that, he'd have a major competitor undercutting him: Wal*Mart.

Fortunately, as many before him have already found out, there is a lot more things in China than Walmart.

If I could have done that, I would have made the Amway scam work.

My brother got caught up in the whole Amway scam years ago and lost his day job as a result. Needless to say, Amway is just what you said it is, a scam.

I think so. It's a little better concealed than most of them, because you actually have merchandise to promote, but the actual point of the "business" is to get other people to sell for you and you get a percentage of their sales. Last time I checked, that's not how businesses actually work.

Never bought anything from Amway or been involved in Amway. Having said that I do not believe they are any more a scam than Avon ,or Lia Sophia, or any of the others that either have people sell their products or have parties. I do know of a few women who have been Avon reps for a long time and do make some decent money. The thing is that it all boils down to how much you are willing to work at it to be successful.

Amway is not really a scam. In fact they helped the government write the laws
years ago on how a muti level marketing company should be run.

Still, it being a business where you recruit others to sell is a turn off to most and many do call it a scam.

I've never been involved in Amway but have worked for other direct marketing companies.
Not an easy job to get others to go into the selling business.

Just like JP Morgan helped write the financial reform laws.

Yup, not a scam Smile

Walking away from the Amway thing.

I kinda feel for the character in the comic here;

I kinda felt for Skipper Dan here, 'til my kid said;

Ed, if I understand you I believe that 10 years ago this is not where you wanted to be 10 years later. The sad thing is that from reading and following your posts you are a great guy and seem very trustworthy and honest and really should be somewhere else. Even if that somewhere else was an assistant store manager or manager for Wal Mart. Just remember it is never to late. If you feel it is time to make a move. Do it. You must sit back and ask yourself. If I stay where I am, doing what I am doing where will I be 10 more years from now. Also where will I be if I try this or that? Will I be better off or worse off? Unfortunately no one can answer that for you. Not even you can answer that with any certainty. However you can probably answer where you will be if you stay where you are now, doing what you are doing. You have to ask yourself. Will I be satisfied? If so do nothing different. Or will I be one of those who says I should have... Not an easy choice the older one gets, but it is reality.

Thanks aces. I am trying to drag myself out of the morass that is; go to work, come home, go to bed.

I'm trying to re-build the magic show and at the very least be a part time magician.

THAT will make me feel a lot better about standing there helping stupid people who did all their shopping and decided AT THE REGISTER whether they wanted something or not!

Do whatever makes you feel comfortable, and Amway is a pyramid club with soap as the center. Bernie Maydoff had a pyramid club with stocks at the center. The only difference between the two is the number of zero's.

Always remember that Tommy is crazy and you should never take his advise.
