To my point as to the original post; If Ender's Game was a good film, it would still be in discussion.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

You should definitely see cool hand luke if you've never seen it.
As far as this thread is concerned, what we have here is failure to communicate. |

Well reading these posts I have come to the conclusion that Classic in some cases is like beauty and is in the eyes of the beholder
in the context it is being used here. Just as ones man's trash is another man's treasure. Sort of the same reason they make vanilla and chocolate ice cream.
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000

I think there are films (and novels, and poetry, etc.) that can be objectively called a "classic," based in the impact it had on the genre and society. For example, The Graduate is considered to be a classic by almost every film scholar. That said, just because something is a classic doesn't mean everyone will like it. (I personally found The Graduate to be dull and painful to watch.)
