I have a fantasy of making lota, foo, vanishing, appearing, production, changing, and other similar type props out of a very unique raw material. Think as large as a toaster and as small as a peach. That's my preface.
I'm looking for direction on learning the real mechanics for these type devices and whatever else I can find. What resources would you suggest to give me the most bang for my bucks? |

Most of the effects you mention here, the methods can be found in some of the most basic magic books, including some of the Dover books which are reasonable. I am not certain, from your post, is that the type of info you are looking for...books that have methods! If so, I can be more specific.

YES! You both are on the right path!
If I were building illusions, I would break out my Osborne plan books.... I am wanting to find those type of plans for magic apparatus. I can find lota in Tarbell, for instance. So, any resources you can think of would be greatly appreciated. I'll be checking into Rice's, thanks Jeff! |

Mark Wilson's book also has some of those things you mentioned.
