The original black plastic pen is still the best, not the Cornelius one, the Harris one...gaffed point at one end, regular at other. It is also used to change a nickle to a penny using shells.
The Cornelius delux looks like a pen from mars...nothing like it I'd use too suspicious. His en thru enythinmg requires a switch to a non gaffed pen at the end. It does have the stronges magnet and does a great pen through wine glass. It also looks, like a currently used high class pen. First choise original, second Cornei[ius third their isn't any...someone made a sharpie thru anything but it soon disappeared.. You can also by Wild's Magics rope magnets and make you own. I did it with a kid's thick pencil and it wrks great, also made a finger thru anything using a vernet sixth finger. |

The "Executive Pen" is the best pen on the market! I bought all the different makes and types to form this opinion.

Greetings All; I would have to agree with Gerry on this topic. I have just about all of the pens on the market and the Executive pen is by far the best in my opinion. The M is very strong so there is no accidental disconnect, and when done, the cap is put on and handed out for examination. I have had magicians look this over and not have a clue. I also have to say that the "Sharpie we use" is sorely missed. I always use a sharpie marker to have a card signed, so it was a natural for the pen thru effect. It is a shame that this is not back on the market, it was very very good.

Executive Pen is very good. I have had a problem with the tip getting all scratched up... but a marker can fix it.

Hi Gary, get in touch with:
http://www.magicmakersinc.com or call them at: 775-883-2400 I'm sure they will replace it for you. A different item that I own, was slightly scratched.... They immediately replaced it for me. They really back up their products! Great Magic company! Hope this helps, Gerry Thoughts Have Wings |

The "cheap looking" plastic one seems to work well for me, people will usually remark " it's a regular pen!" when they examine it.

I also have the "cheap looking" plastic one. Granted it works fine, but the way the "Executive Pen" works is completely different. It's self contained....you end completely clean! The pen can be minutely examined, before and after!... which in my opinion, makes it a stronger effect in impromptu situations. I purchased all the different pens available and came to this conclusion;
The "Executive Pen" is the best pen available on the market. You can see what it looks like at: http://www.magicmakersinc.com Happy New Year to all, Gerry Thoughts Have Wings |

I found a great deal for the Executive Pen on Ebay, and won it. There should be more there if you search.

What are the advantages of The Executive Pen over The Perfect Pen, or are they the same thing?
Thanks. Richard |

I just purchased the executive pen and basically it is the same as the perfect pen except it is black. Also of course it is not by the originater john cornelius its by magic makers. Since I have the original by john I purchased this one to compare but also to have 2 pens available at the desk that didn't look exactly alike - giving my visitors the option of "choosing" a pen out of my cup.
I don't know about anyone else but the 2 downers on the executive pen are 1) the black scratches up sometimes as noted by someone else here so you have to touch it up with a magic marker and 2) the executive pen (at least the one I have) does not work as smooth- this will only make sense to you if you have one of these pens - without exposing anything. The perfect pens action is easier both ways. Hope this helps. |

Hello Richard,
The "Executive Pen" by Magic Makers and the "Perfect Pen" by J.C. uses the same self contained method. There is one big difference though!...taking the cap off, of the "Perfect Pen" will reveal the gimmick...it sticks out, about a 16th of an inch from the rear end of the pen....not so with "The Executive Pen"! It's also black, more deceptive while handling! I never had any problems with scratches on the pen. All pens will scratch, if were careless. The gimmick also handles very smoothly! The improvement in workmanship and quality makes it a better choice. I can't imagine a world of Ford cars...model T's?? I personally would pick a 2004 Rolls Royce. Gerry Thoughts Have Wings |

I have both. The Executive Pen works well for my restaurant work. I love the way it handles!

Hi Bill,
Are you saying that the Perfect Pen has been remodeled, without a 16th of an inch of the gimmick showing at the rear of the pen, when the cap is off? Has the color been changed to black, so that it would be more deceptive while handling, as all the other pens on the market?....I don't think so! Gerry Thoughts Have Wings |

NOT ONE SINGLE ONE PROTRUDES AT THE REAR WHEN THE CAP IS OFF!!! Let me say this again. NOT ONE SINGLE ONE PROTRUDES AT THE REAR WHEN THE CAP IS OFF. And, as I said in my previous post, John's Perfect Pen Thru is chrome plated. It looks very much like a Cross pen. These are very common in the kinds of places I work, where the clients carry expensive pens and wear Rolexes. I believe you are deluding yourself when you say that the all-black pen is more deceptive than the chrome one. I have been performing this thing ever since John brought it out and have NEVER been busted on it. Nobody has ever said "That pen looks funny." And John's pen works as smooth as silk. None of that "gritty" feel you get with some of the Executive pens.

Well Bill, What can I say? The instructions that comes with the Perfect pen, states...the gimmick at the rear protrudes slighly! It's not a defect! IT'S IN THE INSTRUCTIONS bILL!!
I had one in my hands...the Perfect Pen and sold it for the above reasons I quoted! I prefer The Executive Pen, you prefer the Perfect Pen. I prefer a 2004 Rolls Royce! We have different opinions. Gerry Thoughts Have Wings |
