Sting is talking to Jay Leno. He's talking about the Queen showing up in Liverpool to christen a ship.
He mentions that EVERYONE went out onto the street to see the Queen go by in her limousine. He says to Jay, you have to realize. We didn't have a lot of celebrities in England. No Cardashians or anything like that. The Royal Family was very important to us. It hadn't been that long ago, that people would try to touch to hem of the garment of a member of Royalty to be cured of some horrible disease. So, he's standing out there, a little boy of six with his little flag and the Queen goes by, stately in her limousine. He waves the flag frantically and the Queen waves. The limousine is travelling slowly and Sting feels as if the Queen is connecting with him personally as he's waving his flag. Then he says; well, I didn't get cured of any horrible disease. In fact, I got infected with one. I decided I didn't want to be on that street. I didn't want to end up working in that shipyard. I wanted to be in that limousine! I think that was one of the best descriptions of "drive" I've ever heard!
