Good day all.
Back in the 70's my parents would drive me from north of the city down to a magic shop in Montreal. The only detail I can remember of the shop was an older gentleman who ran it and he had an issue with one of his eyes. Every trip he would gleefully show the trick, then when we picked one to purchase, he would sent my parents to the other side of the store and show me the trick. A recent visit to England rekindled a hobby that I was really into a number of years ago, I still have tons of stuff. I came upon Davenport's which in turn led me to the Browser's Den here in Toronto when I got home. Would anyone have a recollection of what the store name was and perhaps the proprietor? I realize I don't have much info to help with this but naturally my curiosity is aroused, and my wallet emptied after today's visit ) Any info would be appreciated. Many thanks Bob |

Just got more info
The store would have been near the corner of Peel and St. Catherine, on Peel. Bob |

Thanks to Phil Matlin at Perfect Magic in Mtl I got my answer.
The place was called Cramer's Magic Shop and it was on Guy street not Peel. Apparently I had met the son-in-law Alex Chervin as the original owner Sam had recently retired. Always great when a mystery is solved, certainly appreciated Phil getting that info to me. Bob |
