I just got some new bills at the bank to make a couple of gaff bill effects. I am having trouble with the bills sticking together. I want the bills to stay crisp, but to slide apart easily. Anyone know the best thing to do to make them easy to spread and count?

Thanks,
Mike

I've used fanning powder (for cards) successfully on new sticky bills. If I recall right, I applied it sparingly with a cotton ball, so I could control how much went on.

Great idea Larry. I too have tried that in the past and it works just fine.

Thanks Larry!

Bill I didn't know it was discussed, and when I did a search nothing came up.

Any recommendations of a favorite online shop to buy it at?

Thanks again to all,
Mike

A VERY gentle curve put in the bills by rubbing them along the edge of a table can make them easier to handle. Then stack them curved up, curved down etc…
or
Use Sortkwik (for counting cash) on your fingers.
You can put a tiny dab behind your ear for easy access.

Mike,
There seem to be so many shop that sell the same item:

(although out of stock here). Maybe just do a net search (include the big auction site) to find a good price and shipping. I doubt there's much difference in what anyone sells (though I could be wrong). -)

Besides, it's a good general purpose thing to have around!

Thanks Larry!

I appreciate your thoughts Mary, but I don't want the edges of the bills curved.

Isn't there Wal-Mart store near Waynesboro, PA, just go to the shoe section and all the shoe products are usually on an end cap display.

If you really want to waist postage, here is one at Amazon:

Need a fanning powder, try here:

Norm Nielsen Magic sells a good brand of Fanning Powder:

The very best Fanning Powder is called "White Satin Fanning Powder", it is the correct mixture. I can only find it at two stores in Canada on line.

Hi Bill,

I do have a Wal-Mart in Waynesboro. Are you suggesting I buy a Kiwi-Shine Sponge to make my new bills not stick together?

Thanks,
Mike
