The US men's soccer team has been drawn into what is being called the "Group of Death" for the 2014 World Cup. They will compete against Germany, Ghana and Portugal. Any thoughts?

I think that's mostly U.S. media hype. Arguably there are at least 3 groups tougher than the one the U.S. is in:

I think Germany think they are better than the USA and so you had better knock them out for their cheek.

I somewhat agree with balducci. While Team USA did get a rough draw, I'm not sure it is really the toughest group. I feel that Group D is the toughest. Even with the tough draw, if USA can open with a win against Ghana and if Germany and Portugal play to a draw, that sets up things to make it possible for USA to advance to the knock out stages. That is a lot of "if" though.
