Having an issue with the gi***ck being too tight and not allowing the visual effect of the pips moving. Anyone else doing this and have suggestions?

I'm going to give a shot at explaining what I had to do (as I had the same issue) without tipping the method:
First: at least with what I use (rider back Bicycles) not all decks are packaged equally, so I use ones that better facilitate the trick. While your mileage my vary, I've found older ones tend to be more "loose"--especially from the old sleeves I'd buy at Costco-- so I construct the gimmick with those. Also, before affixing anything to the inner portion of the gimmick, I'll run it around a good number of times to "iron out" the creases. This seems to prevent any initial resistance from the inner gimmicks initial state. The other thing I've found that's surprisingly handy is to make the inner gimmick's natural "at rest" state the final state of the moving pips. When I've made it in this manner, I don't do the afore-mentioned "ironing out" of the creases and instead use them as a natural stop for when the pips are in place. This way, all that one really needs to be mindful of is the necessary amount of vertical motion. I hope the above made some semblance of sense. All the best and good luck! |

I am using an old Costco deck. Just figuring I could expand the gimmick and cover slightly... give it moving room. But will try the old deck/newer deck idea first. I've seen this performed and it is a great effect... just not getting it to go.
