Hi
New member here. Just curious about the topic of printing on standard playing cards. I understand all the details such as all Bicycle cards have a coating on them which prevents ink from adhering to the card stock. I know some people wipe the coating off before printing then spraying a varnish over the card. I've searched endlessly on the internet for a straightforward way of printing own fakes... yet nothing comes up from the entire world wide web..amazing!!!!! I've spoken to small dealers, such as Mark Leveridge years ago about where he gets his special cards printed, but he preferred not to say. I really don't understand why its such a secret to who does small print runs on stock card. Surely, magicians who issue small packet tricks that incorporate some fancy designed face don't order thousands, as we know magic is a specialised hobby with a limited market. Some packet effects may only sell 30 or 40 sets! So as a last resort, has anyone, please, had any experience of printing on stock playing cards. many thanks. |

Makeplayingcards.com seems to be the best place to get custom playing cards done in small batches for the price. I've heard of lots of Kickstarter card creators getting demo decks here or if they just want to see the back of their card. http://www.makeplayingcards.com/promotio......rds.html
They have a 5% of coupon for orders of more then $25 Code = 5hidspe |

You can also try here
http://www.lybrary.com/the-gaff-factory-......750.html I couldn't find the other links, as the Lybrary site can be annoying to navigate through, but there's a lof of info on this subject scattered throughout. I recommend getting in touch with Chris there and asking him for the links. He covers everything from specific card stocks, finishes, templates, cutting, to corner rounding. Everything you need for professional looking DIY cards. |

With regard to printing your own gaffs....I found I can successfully print gaffes jokers and or black cards but cannot get the red to match or even come close. Any thoughts? I've tried on both my cannon & Epson printers....the red just doesn't look right.
Any ideas? Thanks, Bk |
