To make a short card? Yes, scissors would do. To strip an entire deck, or to make 26 identical short cards? I would be looking for something more sophisticated.

Why not read James P. Riser's card cutting device for making strippers and short cards made with ordinary paper cutters. His PDF instructions are on his website for FREE.

You guys ever tried making a short card with scissors? The rounded edges are really tough to get right...

In the secret section, someone found a rounded corner punch for playing cards. Only was a few dollars. I have always used a fingernail clippers, but the punch seems to work better, now that I found that.

Most of the corner rounders I've seen magicians use are cheap and make corner shorts. They work fine for many uses, but if you want/need to match the actual corner on normal cards you need one of these:

The utility long card cut will be a gradual taper (about 1/32") and corner round off all in 1 cut. Will be great for creating your own stripper card deck (perfect for custom decks).

Since very little is cut off on the width utility device I'm undecided now if I am going to have the corners rounded on both sides of the card. Great for making reverse or regular Svengali custom decks.
