I was searching for around here for where to get started in reading some books about mentalism but I was having a hard time finding a thread that had MUST reads for the mentalism feild.
If there are some books that are available for kindle since I wont be able to get mail for about a month until I am back in the states and I am burning for knowledge =] I have got some books for my kindle on reading body language, one on cold reading. These books have been great and interesting but I would like to focus more on mentalism. So let this thread be the ultimate (maybe over hopeful) thread for mentalism book resources. But more over that, it would be nice to get a Kindle resource going of books available for Kindle. |

Why don't you search "magic book" on Amazon and see which ones are downloadable for the Kindle. Duh!

I don't know if you're trolling or not, but assuming you're not and adhearing to the rules of the Café
but doing that gives you over 137,000 books.. But besides that, I want to know what YOU as Mentalists and Magicians would consider must reads on the topic of mentalism. Not to know EVERY book know to magic and mentalism. I plan on getting The 13 Steps to Mentalism once I get home. |

Don't get overwhelmed with everyone's suggestion. There's a thread in penny about hobbyists go take a look at that.
Get 13 steps or step up to Cassidys 39 steps. Then go from there. Or just buy a bunch of tricks and make the creators rich. |

Take it easy - your idea or request are nothing new here and if you Google search you can find nearly any answer to questions like yours on the Café. 13 Steps and other books are the launch point. I know you have the best of intentions, but starting the "ultimate" guide to... is probably not realistic. Take a deep breath, relax, and wade into the waters. Happy new year! BRETT

I think Bob Cassidy put out a nice PDF at some point of his recommended reads.

Cold reading Do the same for all other items you wish to know about in the Café. Don't recreate the wheel. Make the wheel better, but no need to recreate it, it's already round enough. When you have investigated these search items ask pointed questions. |
