"Memorize a borrowed, shuffled deck in SECONDS The juiciest part about mental magic is that they NEVER KNOW FOR SURE if you really did it. So the question in their minds isn't "how did you trick me?" It's "how did you (really) DO THAT?!?" Rick Lax is an incredible inventor. And "Binary Code" is a MASTERPIECE. A fully developed THREE-PHASE routine that will not just entertain, but earn you a reputation for genuinely having genius-level memory ability. PROFESSIONALS: Pro magicians will LOVE this. It's got a beginning, middle and end that all BUILD excitement the whole way through. And the way Rick presents it, the pace is always just right. With Binary Code, you'll convince even the most skeptical audiences that you're really memorizing the deck. It's THAT good." $4.95 at the moment. I think I will take the plunge. |

Just finished the download. It was 36 minutes long.
The first part is done exactly how I imagined using a principle I'm very familiar with and have used for various effects (The most powerful of these being an effect by Hector Chadwick.) For the first two phases there is no trickery. You are doing exactly what you are saying you are doing. The big final is essentially what you are buying and it is a rather nice concept that actually fooled me. The problem is, to do it as shown in the demo, you do actually need the deck set up and it is beneficial for you to be able to perform a perfect faro. Although that isn't necessary. At the end, Rick discusses how to get into it with a borrowed deck. While this method is decent, I'm not sure if I will use it. I will probably find some other way to set up the effect in a less obvious way. The actual final phase is quite good though. It looks very random and hectic as you sort the colors and it's almost comical to watch as you get more and more crazy with your arm movements and such. I like the look of it and I know for a fact that a spectator wouldn't be able to follow it. The teaching is great as usual from Rick Lax so anyone could learn how to do it. There is a rather basic card slight involved (S****d D**l) But there are ways to perform without that slight. Overall, its a rather nice effect that I might try out some time. |

I, too, took the plunge as this effect fits a theme I'm currently working on.
Like Maddy, I was familiar with the principle in the first phase. I don't use it often, but I came across it in the works of Pit Hartling and it's not difficult to pick up. As for getting into the second phase, there are plenty of alternatives and handlings out there. I loved the alternate ideas Rick provided, some Lennart Green-esque potential here. |

Maddy,
I am thinking to do from a borrowed deck you could use Woody's separgon technique, allowing deck to show deck truly mixed while you memorize. Then you can use Rick's line about shuffling to make it harder (faro) and bingo bang-o you set to do the final phase. Ryan |

I’ve been using More Memory Man by Joel Givens for a couple of years and it truly can be done from a borrowed shuffled deck. It rocks!

Hey Gang!
1) Glad to hear the trick is fooling ya! For those of you who haven't purchased: I do think you'll be satisfied with the method. This is something completely new. And unlike Out Of This World tricks, when you're done dealing the piles, all the reds are together and all the blacks are together. (You don't have to only look through 1/2 the piles and then switch them.) 2) I perform this trick from a borrowed, shuffled deck, without a faro. Yes, there's a version that you can do with a deck that starts in a certain order. (Takes 30 seconds to get the deck in this order.) And yes, there's an addition you can do that uses are faro. But, yeah, I generally do this from a borrowed, shuffled deck. Let me know if you have any questions about anything. -Ricky |

Not something you will learn in seconds, but for those into card memory or gambling routines, this is well worth reviewing.
A bargain for a 36 min. instant download. Very well made video and well taught Rick. Happy New Year to you.

How does this compare to Bob Cassidy's Card Memory?

I have finally gotten this where I can do it correctly every time. It's taken all day for me to wrap my head around it. I kept ending up with a few chunks of opposite colors in each pile and couldn't figure out why. I finally got it. It takes a little memory.
