My seventh Blackpool convention. For those who are unaware, you can get tickets/registrations on the day without the need to order. The line up is looking good and all the familiar faces. I believe Jeff Mc Bride is doing a special lecture over and above the standard appearance which I will be looking forward to.
I would love to know any new releases being launched this year. Any one got any info on this? |

Someone have any news about the lectures: who and when.
I dislike that some lectures are overlapping with other: sometimes it's a hard choosing. |

I thought this too about the lectures but then I realised if they were all on at different times you wouldnt be able to get 3000 magicians in one room

Between the harsh winter storms hitting the east coast here in the states with hundreds of flights cancelled and the UK being hammered with extreme floods, winds, etc (flights cancelled, railways shutdown, etc) and the city of Blackpool looking like world war three hit with deserted streets, closed shops and waves of water flooding everywhere (based on the film crew at the BBC News), I'm just wondering if there will actually be a Blackpool next week. I mean really, if nobody can get there how can you have a convention? Perhaps reschedule for March?
I'm all set to go myself but honestly things are not looking positive. Thoughts? ---

Derek Lever probably has already got his money so he doesn't care if no one shows up or cant get there... He will do same as with FISM and laugh his way to the bank...

Don't believe everything you see and hear on television - Blackpool is open for business and expecting big crowds from this weekend! It is school Half-term and 'Showzam' the Annual Festival of Circus, Magic and New Variety begins its seventh year tomorrow (14th. through 23rd.February). The town is already filling up and we are expecting record numbers.
Anyone coming early for the Convention will find me and my son in 'The Parlour of Prestidigitation' at Showzam Central (Winter Gardens Olympia). Lots of additional entertainment - 'No-Fit Circus Aerialists', 'Professor Okko's Palace of Curiosities', 'The Living Merman' (No, not Ethel! )etc. Open 10.00am until 5.00pm each day - AND IT'S FREE! If you're in town early for the Convention - do come and say 'Hello'!
