Several people have continued to send me money after I have said above that there is no books left.
Please do not send me money, I am so busy at the moment I don't have time to mess around sending it back and as there are no books for the funds then I wont be able to send a book either. Thanks, Pete x |

I bet he could sell more than he is and may even make more money selling it cheaper to the masses but he doesn't. What I like is that I get a sense peter respects his own work too much to pimp it out. |

As mentalists, we deal in secrets. I am surprised that more books are not sold on a very limited basis. I think it is best for everyone that way. As an owner of Bigger Fish, I am looking forward to receiving my copy of Bigger Fish 2 Honestly, I don't know if I fully agree with this. For me, mostly, it is not the secret. The secret is a tool and the presentation makes it into (hopefully) something very valuable. I think we owe a lot to the likes of Cassidy who share their secrets so generously. Not everyone is able to buy all the limited several hundred dollar books. And the best respect I can give to someones work is to make it into something special, making it my own with my unique presentation. I find it sad that some great work vanishes cause one can't get the books. The art would not have grown so much if the Annemanns, Corindas, Cassidy, Hilfords and you name them would have restricted their work to an elite group. Having said that I totally and honestly respect and accept if an author decides to produce a limited number of books. This is his responsibility and his alone. I only feel cheated when I buy a book - advertised as only 50 copies!, never to be reprinted - for a couple hundred dollars and after some time it is readily available! That happened to one of my purchases, so I have proof! That has nothing to do with Peter! I eagerly await my copy of Bigger Fish 2! And thanks in advance for sharing your secrets with us, Peter! Please keep on! |

Content aside, I love the way its written. Typical Turner style. No BS, just the stuff you need. Plus a little insight into Pete's life growing up. It reads like an audio book (in heavy Yorkshire accent of course!)
Also check out the ambigram on the back cover.. how cool! Chris |

My book arrived safely. I've not had a thorough read through but having had a flick through, I'm very happy. I'll post additional thoughts when I have a proper read but its exactly what I expected; full of bold and useable mentalism.
Thanks pete |

'Please do not send me money....' what a wonderful problem to have So I guess the marketing strategy is this: First, create something truly valuable and unique. Next, produce a limited run book that only a very small number of people will be able to buy. The rest who wanted it, but didn't hear about it before they sold out, will develop an intense wanting for their object of desire - because we all want what we cannot have. Finally, when there is tremendous buzz about the latest and greatest book from Peter Turner, and hundreds of people want it, but cannot get it, execute the final step of the strategy and release a mass market DVD set on Penguin. The hundreds of people, desperate for the latest from Peter Turner, purchase the $49 DVD set to at least partially satisfy their desire. Brilliant. |

I don't think the dvd covers the same stuff that the book covers.

I may be off here, but it doesn't seem like Pete is trying to be the master marketer that he is, Enotskalb. I think that he values his material and thoughts based on the fact that they are relatively progressive and unique. He's always advocated doing what you believe in, and I think that the true, positive results of following that mantra is what you see before you.
Not disagreeing with what you said, just adding to it by saying that maybe the best and most effective form of marketing is one that grows out of genuine passion and the confidence to value yourself. |

What's up with the marketing speculation?
I thought it was cool they made the new DVD release very affordable and unlimited. You can't win either way. lol |

Think one of the biggest problems is caused by the tossers that rip Pete and others off. The more people out there that have these, the more risk there is of them being copied and sold on as PDF files............ I think the time is not far away that guys like Peter Turner, Bob Cassidy, Michael Murray and the other creative geniuses out there will stop selling or advertising publicly. They will revert to selling them only to small groups of people they know and trust............. and who can blame them!!!

I've always thought that because of this magic/mentalism is reverting back to its older days when secrets were shared with a few. I personally find this much more rewarding as the art maintains its mystery. I look forward to Bigger Fish 2! |

Peter's Marketing plan is being a genuine nice person, being extremely good at what he does, giving his time to everybody and proving time and time again what a nice person he is.
There is no better marketing in the marketing circle than being a nice person, helping everybody with what you can and being extremely dedicated to the art. And by they way. If you see Peter speaking anywhere on video or in person you will realize that he is not a person who is looking to make a lot of money by tricking persons with marketing plans. What he cares about is making more of us understand how to truly touch people emotionally with our art rather than just doing tricks. Peace! Marian Quote:

I'm a big fan of your thinking and approach to presentation, Pete. When Devil in Disguise came out I guessed (also incorrectly) the asking price would be $500. I was prepared to pay $1,000. Will PM you with several marketing ideas you may consider. |

To be able to pull out a strategy like that....first you have to be very very good! And then if your stuff is very very good, Why would I care if he makes a lot of money. He deserves it for what he is sharing.
