Just watched the show. It was entertaining. Man a guy cut himself...yikes. Good attitude and Mayne plays a nice bad guy. I'll watch it again.

Isn't this being marketed as a Candid Camera Punk'd type show more than a Magic Show?
If so, does it really matter how he achieves the effect? Just wonderin...... |

Liked it. Yes, it does feel like Candid Camera and Cheaters for sure. And yes, they do seem to use some reality TV tricks. But there was some great magic in there, and it was entertaining throughout. I just hope the public agrees.

I am probably showing my age but I had trouble watching it and I like Andrew and am a fan of his work. I found his persona grating, the premise a sad sign of the times and the background music hurt my ears. I was very much looking forward to this so was proportionally disappointed.

I couldn't agree with Bill Cushman more. I too had trouble watching this---hopefully, the show will turnaround!

I watched it. Liked it. Laughed several times. I much preferred his persona than the one Criss Angel try's to emulate. And he was clearly more entertaining than Blaine. Although I enjoyed Blaine's last special, this was more fun. I will watch again.

I really enjoyed it. It wasn't Blain and thank goodness it wasn't Chris Angel. It is its own thing. The main theme of the show isn't magic, but there was still some good magic in it. Any stooges were about accomplishing a funny prank more so than a magic trick.

I watched both shows as they aired last evening. I soooo wanted to like this because I really am a big fan of Andrew's. I met him a few years back when he came to Dallas to lecture. I even have his autograph on a card that is stuck to my office ceiling as I type this.
After seeing both episodes, my initial feelings were what I new many would feel. I won't repeat the comments as they've already been mentioned. I will say even with the cut aways and other things mentioned, I still thought the ideas were fresh, and visual. My fav was the license inside of the Fire Extinguisher box. You gotta "break" the rules...lol! Sure, it was likely stooged but unlike Criss Mindflakes, Andrew is very likable. However, in retrospect, I think this is a really fun concept and a great opportunity for Andrew to bring his ideas to the masses. This type of show will get lay folks who may not have seen a magician on TV before (or ever) interested in magic. I remember when I was a kid, seeing David Copperfield Specials on TV. I fell in love with it and new very early on what I wanted to do with my life. I can imagine if I were a kid today and saw Andrew's Show last night, I would be filled with the same majesty and excitement...and I'd likely be begging my parents to take me to the nearest magic shop so I could buy my first bag of tricks! So instead of slamming Andrew, why not praise him for doing something wonderful. Kudos Andrew...I'll continue to tune in..!

I don't know why, but my favorite effect was when he locked the peoples bicycle tires to the bike rack. It looked simple but very smooth, quick and effective.

Not slammimg Andrew, disappointed with show. Still liked it better than Angel, lol.
I get that it is a reality show and yes, I don't enjoy reality shows as a rule. That age thing again, I suppose. Then again I know many people, my age to 15 years plus, who love reality shows so maybe that's not really the issue. What bothered me the most is how mean spirited the theme of the show is. No one could come off positively with this premise. |

I don't really enjoy this show, audiences are just actors and actresses

I have yet to see a single thing on this show that required a stooge or actor. All very doable without resorting to that.
Ahzhe, do you work on the show? Do you know that for a fact? I don't think so. I work in the tv/film market in central/south Florida. Not saying they didn't use any, because I can't know that for certain as I've no involvement with the show. But, again, I have yet to see anything that required a stooge.
It's all in the reflexes.

For example in episode 2, a lady casually passes by the cameras like it is very usual to see so many cameras filming for a show until Andrew stops her, her expression and the way she talks, just don't like a passerby to me. |

I enjoyed the shows... Andrew is a rather funny guy.
I really did not try to analyze too much, I just wanted to be entertained.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.
