I'm not a big coin worker but I discovered in a pinch that those little aluminum tabs/hooks that come attaching a pair of new dress socks together at the toes end can easily be glued and used for a quick hook coin.
Just food for thought
Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and Tommy Emmanuel are all you need to study to learn to play guitar.

Thanks...because finding a genuine hook coin has been difficult for me. My local shop doesn't have any and a lot of other shops do not either.

Wax works, too. I got some new dress socks for Christmas and had been wondering what I could do with those little hooks. Just tried it out with a quarter.

The Magic Warehouse has a Johnsons hook coin I believe. I bought mine at a local shop though.

Perhaps Todd Lassen could be persuaded to produce "Hoo coins" ?

It's easy to make your own gimmick with a cold chisel and a vice - one quick tap at about 45 degrees to the surface of the coin

I have played around with my old friend Velcro.
They sell glue backed ones at my local Fabric Store. I just cut them down a bit. I even used them on for my Nearly Normal Rock Routine I used last year. Rock On! Harris Deutsch Laughologist

Great call, Bob. Lynetta's Hoo Disk fits any coin instantly and works great. They were a hit at the WMS two years ago.
By the way, Bill Spooner's Hoo Coin book is a goldmine of tricks and technique with this gimmick. |
