I stumbled across this clip of Ali Bongo. 9 minutes of hilarious madness:

Thank you for posting that. I saw Ali live many times and watching that clip, I realise what a well constructed piece it was.

He toured the world with it, appearing at magic conventions and shows for the public.

For Ali fans, there will be a book about him but I suspect it will not be for a couple of years.

I had dinner with him many years ago. I always admired his magical thinking.

Wonderful! There will never be another Ali Bongo. One of the greats, and I miss him. The first time I saw him do that act was many many years ago at Ron's day of Magic at the Empire Rooms in Tottenham Court Road. JR

Ali Bongo was a great comedian, that was so wonderful to watch. I love that energy and silliness, very Pythonesque. Of course, he was also the "brains" behind most of the early magic shows on TV. What he didn't know about magic, wasn't worth knowing.

He is very active. I wish he would have joined the Café sometime before he left us.

Wow! Great, fast moving magic - and not a word uttered from probably one of the finest magical minds of all time!

This is a presentation of standard tricks in the hands of a great performer and the result is a great act. Ali Bongo had "chops". He could have been entertaining doing his taxes.

That was my reaction as well, Gary - not a single word said. And yet you couldn't take your eyes away from him. It's not often I'll watch an entire 9 minutes of a youtube video!
