It is indeed £8.99. That is for the PDF and the walkthrough video!
Someone mentioned being worried that the spectator would not pick the right word in the booklets version of this effect. I always take these thoughts on board and I have created a second gimmick page that will be included in the PDF. However, instead of focusing on certain words, you ask them to focus on specific things within their quarter. Maybe an object that is drawable or a place or something they can imagine saying. All is explained in the PDF too! Im hoping this will be released in the next day or so! Jamie Daws

Jamie was kind enough to send me the completed PDF. It looks beautiful. I can see the little details he added.
I also LOVE the second page of text. I think I will actually use that as my book test. to get 4 hits from 1 page is awesome to me! From that page you could do a drawing dupe, a pure "mind reading" of a word or phrase, a "second sight" where you see through the spectators eyes, and a drawing dupe just in the mind. I think that is AMAZING for what little work is involved. It would be very easy to plant this page into a book of a similar size and then force that page number on another spectator using the classic miscall or other methods. Then you could turn to that page, pretend to rip it out, and continue with these 4 amazing hits from a "random" page. I really like this. This alone is worth the price of the book (for real this time!) |

I initially missed the review copies but I was very intrigued by the description. I love things that are simple in appearance yet pack a punch, especially when it comes to mentalism that can be done on the spot, anytime, anywhere, and still play very strongly.
I did speculate about what it could be based on the descriptions. Nevertheless, I bought it as soon as it hit the servers. And I was on the right track before going astray in my logic. So I finished reading the PDF and here are my initial thoughts: - It is very innocent. - It is very simple in execution. - It is not an effect, but a method - a means to an end. (as mentioned by RNK in his review) - The ebook is well designed and the whole concept is well explained. - It made my mind go wild with concepts and ideas!!!!!!!!! This is the type of things that I know I will use a lot. As soon as I read the basic explanation, I jumped up - excited, tore a small piece of paper, wrote few words and performed the basic version to my wife. She had no clue. I know with proper framing, solid patter, and a more involved routine, this can be a very powerful piece. Oh, and it plays nicely in a larger set because it is what I call, theme-setter! Now with a single performance, I already came up with few nuances and details that help strengthen the inherent illusion. I am looking forward to incorporate this into a parlor/stage routine. As for the effects discussed, here are my thoughts: - Noughts and Crosses: a very nice engaging presentation and the ending wraps everything nicely. This is a routine I will fall back on when I am to perform unexpectedly and would want to impress (it already fits nicely into an impromptu set I currently do). - Word Tear: I see roots of this routine in the works of David Berglas and others. It is very nice and the touches Jamie adds are very nice. If one currently does a book test (or uses one of the very expensive one out there), they may skip this. I actually like it (especially the second page Jamie supplied, it is brilliant). And the good thing one can make their own as Jamie was kind enough to discuss details on how to do so. I will say this, if anyone is familiar with the work of Michael Weber, then one can change this into a spectacular routine that plays very well, close-up and on stage. - Motion Crosses: My least favorite of the three as it is more 'magicky' and there are better variations on this plot already available. Now this 'principle' is great on its own, but is a dynamite when used in conjuction with other principles (as evident in the Noughts and Crosses effect). Really, there is so much room to create here. Great work Jamie! And yes, this is underpriced because not only it is a powerful concept, but also it well produced PDF, and Jamie did provide nice routines and a video. I also loved the extra thoughts section. It is clear that Jamie did not just rush something to sell. He gave it enough thought prior to releasing this (I am assuming we are talking a lot of months here, relatively speaking ). Keep it up Jamie! |

Torce Force is an amazing principle which will no doubt open the flood gates of your creativity.
The inns and outs of this ingenious technique are very clearly explained and to whet your appetite Jamie offers some great routine suggestions. The technique itself is very easy to grasp and as a result with little more than a pen and a business card you will be ready to amaze at a moments notice. With the abundance of new material on the market it is often difficult to decide where your money should go. Let me say this, it is very rare that new principles come along and it's also my firm belief that there is far more value to be found in principles than in off the shelf products. For this reason alone I have no hesitation in recommending this to you! You will not be disappointed! Best Wishes Michael
As a mentalist you must always ask yourself what if! And throughout your life you should seek to ask and answer this question over and over again, only then will your wildest dreams become a reality!

I picked this up and it is very nice indeed, very simple but very deceptive. The naughts and crosses effect is worth the price alone. I like the single page book test particularly the second version, however here comes my only gripe, this book test contains one of my pet hates, a magical reference in a book test. One of the force words is prestidigitation.
I've said it before and I will say it again ...... NO NO NO .... Don't do it .... It's not big, and it is not clever!! Put a reference to magic in a book test, no matter how obscure you think it is, cheapens the effect. Ok this isn't as blatant as the club being called Derren Browns in the comic book test but there are laymen out there with extensive enough vocabularies to know that prestidigitation means sleight of hand and a prestidigitator is a magician. I can say this for a fact because in my misspent past I was a cracker (commonly incorrectly referred to as hacker) and my handle was The Prestidigitator. I was surprised at how many people knew what my handle meant, I only ever had to explain it to one or two, common question about my handle was "So like are you into magic and card tricks?". Force words in book tests need to be innocent, don't draw unnecessary attention to them by including magical references, stick to words that someone would expect to find in any book on the shelf. Ok rant over, other than that I love this force and really like the book test, in fact after suitably tweaking the page to my liking I will probable use Lulu to print a book just with that one page repeated. That way I can either force the book or simply pick it up, riffle through until someone calls stop and then tear out the page they stop me on. Mark |

Hi All,
I have to agree with what has been said before... Torce Force is a very clever and useful technique. With just a little imagination on your part, you should be able to think of many different routines and applications. This is well worth the price and you'll be glad you got it. Regards, Steve

I just had an interesting PM from a chap who has purchased the Torce Force who has a valid point. He could not understand why the Torce Force was needed in the Word Tear routines. Why not simply have an interesting word in each corner, keep track of who has torn which corner and then reveal?
I feel that the issue being raised is perhaps my own fault for not clarifying the point for the force in this routine. So I thought for the sake of all those who have purchased it and all those thinking of purchasing it, I would address this openly here! This is a method to create an effect. These are not fully polished routines. Even the full routines like Noughts and Crosses can be edited. Things can be added or taken away. Most book tests require the magician to hand a book, have a page turn’t to and then a single word thought of. The magician then reveals that word. Mixing the Torce Force into the effect does several things. Firstly, it means that more than one word can be selected. This instantly makes this a far more commercial effect. Secondly, the use of a single torn page. This brings a different dynamic to the routine. It means that when the page is torn again, everything is motivated. It also brings some interesting new patter possibilities! Thirdly, you do not need to keep track of anything other than one quarter of the page. And I've even gotten rid of that with the second version of the Word Tear pages. This leaves the performer to be far more confident in his routine and focus more on presentation. Lastly and possibly most importantly, it allows the booklets to be taken into a realm never before taken. Imagine beginning your set with an envelope which is propped up, on stage by a book. Each spectator receives a sticky name badge and assists the performer on stage. The Torce Force is performed and each spectator focusses on something different. A word, an object, a place and even something that is said in the story. The performer then dramatically reveals each of the items. So far, this is the standard book test. But then, the magician asks if anyone had noticed the book cover. At a closer inspection, hidden within the design of the books cover, each of the things thought about are seen. Almost as if the book cover has somehow influenced them to think of the things they had. More so, each spectator is asked to take of their sticky name badges and turn them over to show the audience. Drawn on the other side of person ones name badge is written the thing they are thinking of. This is then followed by person two, three and four. I think you'll agree, this is an incredible piece of magic and nothing a book test has been able to do before. Pre-predict the words selected by four random spectators. So in answer to the message, yes you can do it the other way, but I urge you to use your imagination to realise the true potential of this amazing move! I hope this all made sense! Jamie Daws

I have read through and watched the video. All I can say is thank you Jamie.... This is something that I plan on getting a lot of use out of. I have not sat down to give it a full review because I want to use it in action a few times to give a real world working review. But so far from what I have had a chance to read and see I am absolutely smitten by this tool. GREAT job again Jamie.

I just had another message through from an amazing mentalist and creator is iunlockyourmind! "Torce Force is a very deceptive force that has unlimited applications for "Mentalism and Magic". After reading Torce Force I instantly found a place for it in a Passcode routine I wanted to create.
