Hi guys,
if you like "little" magic apps and mentalism, this one is for you! https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/magic-tr......957?mt=8 Effect: The magician lends his iPhone to a spectator performing the following steps on the calculator: multiply a random 3-digit number by another random 3-digit number then divide the new number by a random 4-digit number. The magician gives a readable and examinable book to the spectator that flips the pages to the corresponding integer result number. The magician tells the spectator to concentrate on this random page then reveals 2 words on this page: for instance the first and the last word or any other couple of words the magician decided! It is very easy to use, and it will work 100% of the time. - Simple to learn - Easy to perform - Use any normal book - No gimmicked book - Any language/alphabet book - No memorization needed - Instant reset - Mentalism magic - Mind reading Please be aware that you can't perform immediatly the trick, you have to set up your first use of the app. Once you set up, you won't regret it ;-) The app is compatible with iPhone/iPod Touch. Regards. |

So it's the same as the paul daniels' 'add-a-number pad' fake calculator app?

Do you even need an app when this can be done with the standard iPhone calculator using the toxic force even on a borrowed phone.

The title of this thread says it's the cheapest book test ever. Richard Osterlind's Poor Man's Booktest costs a penny (literally), so following logic this app should be free.

I like poor mans book test.
I found something out by accident the other day with it. This trick is on the Sapphire DVD set, I'll post more on that thread later.

Hey MagicKatie and Raj,
you should change your usernames... MagicHaters will be fine ;-) What the point to talk about an App you never tried and you don't know how it works? If $0.99 is too expensive for you send me a PM and I will send you a free promo code and after you will be free to vent hatred against our app on this forum! |

To be fair the description of the app does sound just like a method that is simple and can be done with any calculator app.
It's up to you to make it seem more worthwhile.

I like the first app you put out, but this one does sound like a calculator force that can be done with any calculator. I could be wrong but that's why it's called speculation. Deal with it.
Misdirect yourself regularly before you attempt to misdirect others!!!

I'm not angry but always the same 2-3 users of the forum write false things about our apps and I prefer to clarify for the others. About the trick, you have to save first every two random words you decided (for instance the first and the last) of each page of the book into the app. After the calculation is done, the result is a RANDOM number between the first and the last page of the book. Before you lock the smartphone you peek with your thumb the two words of the corresponding page... Here you are an old version we used on Android devices, the iOS is much better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLgJzae9j3w |

Not to sound like a hater but the toxic force sounds like a lot less work, you only have to worry about whatever you want to reveal from the force page rather than saving 400+ words into an app. Using toxic you could very easily do this impromptu with a borrowed book and a borrowed phone.

Once it is done, the trick can be repeated as often as required with the same audience without touching the book. Performing with the app, the spectators believe you memorized all the book as you can name many words of many pages. Both has strengths and weaknesses. |

This is actually quite nice. It doesn't appear to be a forcing calculator but rather an index. Correct? For .99 I think it's a great option to have. Well done!
One point though - to match the regular ios 7 calculator you need to swap the length of the equal and zero buttons. They are currently swapped. Will you consider updating that? |

Ok so it's not exactly a forcing calculator but it is consistently generating a 4 digit answer in the form of xx.xx (the dog being a decimal). That may be an issue as multiplying and dividing 3 and 4 digit numbers would typically lead to very imprecise answers with long strings of decimals.
I'll play around with this a bit more. See if I can come up with a clever use of it. |
