Music is way too loud on the DVD.

Oh you mean like Sans mind vanishing pen? Remember when you said it was just Dave Powell's pen and it was not?

Well I just finished a delicious crow meal tonight. Haven't bought this yet or seen it, but I now must admit this sounds like Shin finally hit one outta the park.

Gimmick was really easy to make and took about 5-10 minutes.
If you don't like dealing with gimmicks during routines I wouldn't buy it. With a little practice you can get the switch to look really clean and the gimmick does most of the work. Couple of non MCF ideas are taught which is good because I think you have to be very precise with the fold for it to look good. Defiantly not the cleanest switch ever because you are left dirty. The sound track on the DVD is totally unnecessary and too loud at times. Couple of classic shin moments on the DVD for the haters to pick up on:) |

Your left with things to clean up.Shin obviously does it really well.
I'm not trying to say something is fishy with the demo because it's not. Maybe I just don't like THE CLEANEST SWITCH EVER claim. |

Once unfolded you can just pick up your pen and put it away as you give them the card. I'm loving this great concept and idea, ideal for billets and notes as well. We are including a free bonus red bicycle card (that has had work done on it) with every order at the moment (this offer will be withdrawn soon) to get you up and running really quickly, if you use blue just ask we can do those by request. http://www.saturnmagic.co.uk/new-magic/t......im-.html

Well, you have to hand it to Shin, this is clever thinking and I'm happy it's lived up to the hype and then some! Shin provides everything to get you going and after a few minutes DIY you're ready yo perform what, in my humble opinion, has got to be the cleanest one handed switch of a playing card or billet/note. The method was nothing like what I had suspected so I was excited watching the DVD explanation. I agree Shin goes on a bit and some might find him repetitive but you can't deny he's thorough. He teaches everything you need to know to perform the switch and I love the fact he teaches you how to gimmick any card - I hate it when a trick is sold in just by cycle or whatever. Yes, you have to make up the gimmick but it's seriously straight forward...well, some might say fiddley, but I'd much prefer yo know the gimmick inside out than yo be handed it on a plate. I know others will no doubt disagree, but just proves you can't please everyone.
So for the doubters, the hecklers out there who slammed Shin and this creation, I invite you to 'eat crow' and maybe while you're at it, a word of apology for being so negative and unsupportive. Supporting this art is what we should all be doing, bullying has no place in magic as far as I'm concerned and I really hope that behaviour doesn't continue to pollute the Café. I'd be interested from anyone else who has purchased the switch whether you've been smiling as much as I do in front of the mirror....performing the switch, not standing there naked?! |

BUT.....Do you have to be seated to perform this?....I noticed on both demo videos Shim was sitting down. Can this be performed standing, like in a strolling restaurant or other walk around venue?

Quick Question: Is the "Mystery Card" gimmicked? The reason I ask is I am wondering if I can borrow a bill from a spectator, and then switch it for my own bill to do a serial number reading. I would appreciate feedback or thoughts on this.

Watched the DVD this afternoon... It's good but not nearly as perfect as you're lead to believe in the demo. IMO, Jay Sankey's "Paper Clipped" is cleaner by comparison. I'm predicting mixed reviews...some will like it and others won't.

Did I miss something in 14 pages mentioning this can be done with a currency bill? Anyway, Jury is still out, can't wait to read some actual reviews from purchaser's that done a little more then watch the video and/or made the gimmick. |

In my opinion Shin Lims Switch cant beat Paperclipped. Ok maybe it is a little bit more visual but it isn't nearly as practical as Paperclipped .

I can see where you are coming from as I have done Paperclipoed for many years.
I always remember one guys comments a few years ago he said nice sleight of hand when I did it! What this does it add that extra level of showing your hands empty before you pick the card up off the table. This is what sells this for me, you can't in their minds be hiding anything if you just showed your hands empty. I don't totally agree it's not as practical, the set takes a couple of seconds or none at all depending on the version you are doing.

@Saturn UK: can you cleanly show both of your hands empty and then go for the folded card? If that was true, then why didn't Shin show that in his demo videos? He does not. Judging from common knowledge and the demo videos, one cannot show both hands empty and then go for the mystery card.
Can you please elaborate Mark on empty hands? |

Pick it up, put it somewhere back again, show your hands empty and then proceed... That's meant. And it is all right. You'll find a motivation for that. The thinking is nice. Jan
