Posted this over to the new Maher Studios Forum too...
Many great threads on Magic Café about performance cases and travel. This is something magicians always have opinions about and always seems to come down to personal preference given the type of magic, size of props, need for travel and weight. Seems to me, vents have unique concerns: figure protection, performance needs, travel, show type (magic and vent or just vent). I would love to see what Steve Petra needs to move his show - so many elements on the stage. John Kimmons (Kimmo) does magic and vent - performs most everything from atop his trunks. This is typically my preference though some of my figures seems to work better for me on a taller stand - like Dan Horn. So, how about some discussion on cases, tables and trunks? How do you travel? How do you set the stage? Case or stand or hand-held figures? Drawbacks and recommendations? |

Just gave my answer over on Maher Studios forum, along with links to the cases I use and a link to some pics of my set ups. Hope they help!
