So the "5-year old city ordinance banning social card games" was "passed in 2009 when a private business owner wanted to host card games in the heart of the city - for profit."

Am I reading this correctly? Social card games in homes and community centers were banned because a private company wanted to make a profit by hosting these games for profit in its own facility? In other words, the law was passed to support a local private company?

Or do they mean that ALL card games were banned 5 years ago, by mistake? In an attempt to keep a for profit gaming company / casino out of the city?

Either way, do I care?
