Hello,
What do you use to build a torch? For fire-eating? Just a simple stick with some cotton wool tied to the end? |

Honestly, if you do not know this basic thing I would recommend staying away from fire eating as you can get seriously hurt.

I'm not planning to do fire eating! I wouldn't dare anyway. Just want to know what materials is best to build a torch. I know it's basic, that's why I'm asking in case I use something wrongly and get hurt.

You might want to try searching google and look for juggling > making fire torches to get some basic info on the subject. But having said that extreme caution should be exercised if you want to take it any further.

You can learn the proper and safe way of making fire-eating torches from Todd Robbins on a videotape titled “Magic of the Sideshow” from Stevens Magic. If you have ever had a burning wad of cotton drop off its handle into your open mouth then you will know that there is safe and proper way to make the torches.
