One of the true heroes of magic and entertainment. He leaves a large space that can never be filled. His performances left me exhausted from laughter and awe. I treasure the many books, videos,and magic effects that fill up a large locker in my house from the House of Colombini. My sincere condolences and heartfelt wishes for the beautiful Rachel and Aldo's many friends and relatives. I wish he had lived forever.

My heart is literally breaking in two as I type through tears.
Man, God broke the mold with Aldo. There will never be another like him or anyone to fill his shoes. "Now he belongs to the ages"....

I had forgotten that I had purchased one of Aldo's DVD's online a few days ago, and then it arrived today, and shortly after I received it I discover that he has left us.
It is almost a surreal feeling. Cannot believe it. I don't think I will be able to watch it right away. It would just make me feel so sad and I know I could not concentrate on it and get the full meaning of the master's instructions out of it as he would no doubt want me to. So I will hold off for a while. RIP Aldo, you are already missed by so many. |

Aldo was a great entertainer. Everything he did was fantastic. His cups and balls, for example, was a masterpiece. But so was everything else. One thing I liked the most was his six card repeat. No one ever did it better. No one. Best MC piece ever. Did Aldo ever publish his handling of the six card repeat?

And I'm sure that Aldo had quite a adequate life, embraced above all by the love of his courageous and devoted wife, Rachel who has always been a real and fearless fighter for life. I'm staring right now at his autographed photo he gave me a few years ago and I can hardly prevent my tears from dropping on my keyboard. I think that everyone has the right to feel just for a few moments like a child though he is a 47 years old family man and father of a teenager and let himself cry silently due to the loss of a brilliant thinker and creator of our art and one of the greatest fellow magic performers worldwide to date. But above all due the loss of a loved human being who had a rarefied and outstanding personality. A man with a heart full of gold... All of my condolences to his "Wild at Heart' wife, Rachel, their relatives and their closest and beloved friends. Andrew K. Athens, GREECE

Greetings at a quiet time;
We have been without cable, phone and internet due to storms, and just went through another with more to come. But nothing prepared me for the shock of losing Aldo. The storms seems so minor now. I remember back at the Supreme Magic Days when Aldo went by the name of Fabian, his cups and balls, linking rings, card tricks, and the jokes....he could go on for days without ever repeating the same joke. We worked conventions together, shared good wine, friends, and a love for magic. My heart goes out to Rachel and the family, the loss is huge, but so also is the world in which Aldo lived and worked. Everyone has been touched by Aldo in this business and all of us are here to help them through all of this. I would be willing to bet that anyone who has been in magic for at least 5 years or more has an effect, a dvd, or a book by Aldo. He was a brilliant magician, creator, lecturer, and person. Aldo could walk into any room at any time, and take control and have you laughing so hard there would be tears. There are tears now, sorrowful tears for the loss of a friend, but knowing Aldo and how much he enjoyed life, I am glad that he did not suffer painfully. I will end with this, since I did not get to say it personally to Aldo before he left... Resto con gli angeli il mio Fratello Respectfully with much Love and a Very Heavy Heart! Marty |

How sad. Prayers for Rachel and his family. I never met Aldo, but I love performing his magic and greatly appreciated his generosity. A tragic loss.
Performing magic unprofessionally since 2008!

I have often heard it said, "Some people should live forever".
Aldo is one for whom that was written. With Aldo's passing, and considering the previous tragedy he and Rachel lived through, I think it truly proves that in this not so nice world in which we live, that bad things happen to good people. Aldo was a good 'n. Good as they come. Always contributing smiles, laughter and wonder into the lives of others. Always making the world a better place for his having been here. Always leaving a sterling role model for us to follow of what a true magician and a gentleman really is. Dang, Aldo! You sure will be missed, friend! You were a tough act to follow! And you set the bar so high and left quite a challenge for the rest of us to emulate! Be sure of this: You created and left true magic in people's hearts wherever you went! The world of magic owes you a debt of gratitude, but how can we ever re-pay you?? I never knew until now that you played classical guitar and painted. I too play classical guitar and paint, so now I feel a kinship with you that I never felt before. But my heart is so sad because I found these things out after you left, and now I will never be able to share them with you. You left this world WAY too early. Now all we have is your legacy. But oh!!!! Oh my what a legacy it is! Aldo, just like you, the legacy you left us is nothing short of magnificent. And I can only say. Aldo, you showed us how to live. You were a magnificent person, and in magic, you lived a magnificent life!! Ciao, my friend. You will always live on in our hearts, and in that place, you will never die.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

Last time I saw him lecture, I could not control my laughter!
Truly, one of my all time favorite magicians.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

Does anyone know of any organized effort to make a monetary donation? Steve Brooks, is there any way the Magic Café could facilitate this? Given what Aldo and Rachel have gone through, and what they both have given to the magic community, I think it would be an important and kind gesture.
