Just seen this:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/let......notebook A notebook with 20 dry erase pages. Interesting!

Now, that *is* interesting, with a lot of potential applications.
My only concern is that initially the average person won't be as familiar with this item as they would be with a regular notebook, possibly resulting in distraction ("Ooh, what's that?") from the work at hand, and/or suspicion with an unfamiliar object. A minor clarification: the Kickstarter page for this states that the notebook is 40 pages, so apparently the dry erase surface is on both the front and back of each of the 20 pages in the notebook. |

You can get dry erase sheets that are used for flip charts. Very flexible "plastic-y" paper.
Seems to me, Office Depot could trim and bind them for you with little or no problem. Don't know for sure, since I've never done anything but write on them. |

I haven't seen it, but doesn't it seem gimmicky?
Unless its properties have specific need in an effect wouldn't it be better using a paper pad and sharpie? Perhaps I'm missing something here. Andre

Unless this is non-glare dry erase material (and most isn't), it will present the same visibility problems as most white boards.
(But I think they would be very useful for political operatives in case their notes ever get subpoenaed.) |

Wow, what an excellent idea. And not just for mentalism either. I would love to have one for conventions and lectures.

This doesn't seem commercial... And yet the kickstarter target has already been far exceeded?

Good point mastermindreader. Glare is a problem with white boards onstage due to stage lighting. They don't have as much of a problem in other settings lit by florescent lighting which is diffuse.

Along those lines, you can make a dry erase board with transparent shelf liner. It has more of a matte finish. The downside is that it doesn't clean as well, so you have to change it out. I've never looked at it under stage lights though. It may have almost as much glare as regular white boards under stage lights.

It's a cute idea, and I think one that might be purchased as a Christmas present if it was released in shops. But I feel it's one of those things that would get used for a couple of weeks and then shelved when the novelty factor has worn off. People can do the same note-taking on their phones and tablets these days, making this book just an extra item to carry around.

I would potentially use it, sitting with clients and sketching out sites and page layouts on a pad is a nice quick and easy way to get people involved and gives a good enough idea of what everyone is talking about..
sometimes technology dies or generally goes wrong doesn't it... saying that - I wonder how they stop multiple pages from rubbing/smearing each other's ink?

Do you have to erase it with the pen?
